When it comes to visiting popular attractions, I make sure I never miss out. So, when the opportunity arose to explore Turkey, I decided to embark on this adventure with Wander Womaniya, a women-only travel group. With their expertise in crafting unique experiences and ensuring the safety of female travellers, I knew I was in capable hands.

Late September marked the beginning of my journey through Turkey, a time when the weather was pleasantly mild—perfect for strolling along the lively streets of Istanbul. This city, once known as Constantinople, boasts a rich history that spans centuries. Its historical significance as a prominent trade hub has made it accessible to travellers from around the globe, a tradition that still continues today.

Upon arriving at Istanbul’s Atatürk Airport, I was struck by its modern infrastructure and exceptional connectivity. Serving as a gateway for countless international flights, the airport seamlessly connects Turkey to the rest of the world. This ensured a hassle-free and convenient journey for me, without the worry of long layovers or complicated transfers.

Wander Womaniya meticulously planned our itinerary, ensuring we covered all the must-see destinations in Turkey. From the iconic Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia to the bustling Grand Bazaar, every corner of Istanbul exuded history and allure. Our knowledgeable guide regaled us with intriguing stories and legends, making the experience all the more captivating.

A highlight of our trip was a mesmerizing hot air balloon ride in Cappadocia. Drifting above the enchanting rock formations, known as fairy chimneys, was a truly ethereal experience. The landscape resembled something out of a fantastical realm, leaving me awestruck and at a loss for words.

Another unforgettable journey during my travels brought me to the historical marvel of Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, Turkey. Stepping into this grand structure instantly transported me to a bygone era, as echoes of the past enveloped me. Exploring the well-preserved ruins and architectural wonders, I marvelled at the intricate details and the rich history that unfolded before my eyes. The site allowed me to imagine the vibrant Roman city that once thrived within these walls. With each step, I immersed myself in the opulence and sophistication of this awe-inspiring monument, creating indelible memories.

Alongside the historical and cultural wonders, Turkey delighted my taste buds with its delectable cuisine. I savoured mouthwatering kebabs, savoury baklava, and traditional Turkish tea, each meal a delightful feast. Wherever we went, I couldn’t resist indulging in the local specialities, a true treat for my senses.

Choosing to travel with Wonder Womaniya turned out to be a fantastic decision. Not only did I have the opportunity to meet extraordinary women from diverse backgrounds, but we also forged strong bonds during our shared adventures. Late-night conversations and laughter-filled bus rides fostered a camaraderie that made the trip all the more memorable.

As a woman traveller, safety was a top concern, and Turkey surpassed my expectations. The locals were warm, welcoming, and always ready to lend a helping hand. Throughout my journey, whether in the company of the group or exploring on my own, I felt secure. Witnessing the resilience and strength of Turkish women, who shattered stereotypes and embraced their unique stories, was truly empowering.

In conclusion, my trip to Turkey with Wander Womaniya offered a delightful blend of history, culture, adventure, and camaraderie. From the vibrant streets of Istanbul to the mystical landscapes of Cappadocia and the ancient ruins of Ephesus, Turkey captured my heart. I wholeheartedly recommend exploring this remarkable country, particularly for fellow female travellers seeking a touch of adventure and empowerment. Turkey has left an indelible impression, and I eagerly await my next travel escapade with Wonder Womaniya.
