Skoda Auto Volkswagen India has reached a remarkable milestone by rolling out its 500,000th Skoda car from its state-of-the-art facilities in Pune and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (formerly Aurangabad). The achievement reaffirms the group’s strong commitment to the Indian market, with a focus on localization, world-class quality, and safety.

Since the first Skoda Octavia rolled out from the Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar facility in 2001, the brand’s journey in India has grown into a versatile and thriving portfolio. From iconic models such as Octavia, Laura, Superb, and Kodiaq, to new-age favourites like the Kushaq, Slavia, and the first sub-4-meter Kylaq, Skoda has continued to connect emotionally with Indian car enthusiasts through its evolving lineup.

The cars produced in India are not limited to domestic consumption. The company’s manufacturing strength is now contributing to Skoda Auto’s global expansion. Parts and components from India are being used at the group’s newly inaugurated manufacturing plant in Vietnam, where models like the Kushaq and Slavia will be locally produced. This move strengthens India’s position as a key export hub in alignment with the Government of India’s “Make in India for the World” vision.

Andreas Dick, Board Member for Production and Logistics, Skoda Auto a.s., said, Reaching the milestone of 500,000 cars produced in India is a proud testament to our unwavering commitment and operational excellence. By nurturing local talent and integrating global manufacturing standards, we’ve built an agile and world-class ecosystem that reflects India’s industrial strength.

Piyush Arora, CEO and Managing Director, Skoda Auto Volkswagen India, added,“It’s not just about producing 500,000 cars, but building 500,000 connections. Every vehicle carries the DNA of European engineering and precision, crafted with unmatched quality, comfort, safety, and driving dynamics. This success belongs equally to our customers and our employees.”

The milestone comes in a landmark year as Skoda Auto celebrates 130 years globally and 25 years in India. Around 70% of the 500,000 units were produced at the Pune plant, while the remaining were manufactured at the Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar facility. In addition, Skoda also achieved its highest-ever monthly sales in March 2025, delivering 7,422 units in a single month.

Behind this achievement stands a dedicated workforce, advanced technology, and the unwavering trust of customers — all driving the brand’s ongoing success in India and beyond.
