Kia India has officially opened bookings for its first made-in-India seven-seater electric vehicle, the Carens Clavis EV. Customers can reserve the EV starting today through Kia’s official website or at dealerships across the country by paying a booking amount of ₹25,000.

The Carens Clavis EV becomes Kia’s first electric model developed specifically for the Indian market, with prices starting at ₹17.99 lakh. It will be offered with two battery options—a 42 kWh unit delivering an ARAI-certified range of 404 km (MIDC) and a larger 51.4 kWh pack with a certified range of 490 km.

Highlighting the launch, Joonsu Cho, Chief Sales Officer at Kia India, said the Carens Clavis EV represents a key step in making electric mobility more accessible in the country. “This 7-seater EV reflects our vision to deliver smart, sustainable, and value-driven electric solutions. With our growing EV ecosystem—featuring K-Charge on the MyKia app and over 250 EV-ready workshops—we are excited to welcome customers to the Carens Clavis EV,” he said.

The Carens Clavis EV follows Kia’s “Opposites United” global design philosophy and combines contemporary styling with a spacious, premium cabin. It is positioned as a practical electric RV that blends innovation, performance, and affordability.

On the performance front, the model supports fast charging, going from 10% to 80% in just 39 minutes using a 100 kW DC charger. It features electric motors producing 126 kW and 99 kW with 255 Nm of torque, plus four levels of regenerative braking using paddle shifters.

Safety and technology remain a strong focus. The EV comes equipped with Level 2 ADAS featuring 20 autonomous functions, along with 18 safety features and 90 connected-car technologies such as remote access, intelligent navigation, and smartphone integration.

Inside, the highlight is a 26.62-inch dual panoramic display that combines infotainment and digital instrumentation. Other comfort features include a Smart Infotainment-Temperature Control Swap Switch, 64-color ambient lighting, One-Touch Electric Tumble for second-row seats, Boss Mode, and a Dual Pane Panoramic Sunroof.

The Carens Clavis EV will be available in four variants HTK Plus, HTX, HTX ER, and HTX Plus ER with six color choices: Glacier White Pearl, Gravity Gray, Aurora Black Pearl, Pewter Olive, Imperial Blue, and Ivory Silver Matte.

Kia India, which began production in 2019 at its Anantapur plant in Andhra Pradesh, now has a manufacturing capacity of 300,000 units annually. The company has launched nine models in India so far and has dispatched nearly 1.5 million vehicles, including over 3.6 lakh exports. With a network of 744 touchpoints across 329 cities, the brand continues to expand its footprint in the country.
