Citroën India has taken a bold leap with the launch of the new Aircross X, its latest SUV under the X-Series lineup. Revealed as part of the brand’s “Shift Into the New” initiative, this model positions itself as a smart, premium, and family-oriented SUV designed specifically for Indian roads.
At the media preview, the Aircross X impressed with its blend of European style, intelligent technology, and India-ready practicality. It feels like the model that truly bridges Citroën’s French design DNA with the evolving tastes of Indian families.

Exterior Design: French Poise, Indian Purpose
In the metal, the Aircross X strikes a harmonious balance between style and substance. It carries Citroën’s distinct split-headlamp identity, a clean and sculpted front fascia, and a subtle blend of gloss-black and metallic accents.

The upright stance, long wheelbase, and generous 200 mm ground clearance make it look every bit a proper SUV — confident enough for highways, yet agile for city streets. The attention to proportion stands out; nothing feels exaggerated, and every curve carries a sense of purpose.
Interior and Cabin Experience: Comfort, Space, and Sophistication
Step inside, and the Aircross X greets you with a cabin that feels a notch above its segment. Citroën has focused on texture and tactility, offering soft-touch panels, gold interior accents, and plush leatherette upholstery that exudes quiet sophistication.

A bezel-less 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system takes center stage, flanked by a 7-inch digital driver display. The interface feels fluid and intuitive, tying in beautifully with the car’s star feature — CARA, India’s first multilingual in-car assistant.

The TropiCool ventilated seats, dual-tone color palette, and diffused ambient lighting together create a lounge-like atmosphere. With both five- and seven-seat configurations available, space management is excellent. The seven-seater version, in particular, offers a flexible third row and a boot capacity of up to 511 liters.

CARA: The Intelligent Co-Driver
At the heart of the Aircross X experience is CARA (Citroën Assistant for Responsive Assistance) — an India-first intelligent AI companion that redefines human-vehicle interaction.

CARA can speak and understand 52 Indian and global languages, switching seamlessly mid-conversation. It’s not limited to simple commands; it controls essential functions like climate control, seat ventilation, music, and navigation, while also monitoring key systems such as tyre pressure and door locks.
Safety integration runs deep — CARA can trigger voice-based SOS alerts, send crash notifications, and connect drivers to emergency support. It is, quite literally, a co-driver that listens, assists, and protects.
Technology, Safety, and Convenience
The new Aircross X is packed with thoughtful technology that makes everyday driving easier and safer. Its HALO 360° camera with satellite view ensures clear visibility around the vehicle, particularly useful in tight parking spots. The Proxi-Sense keyless entry system allows touch-free unlocking, and push-button start makes operation seamless.

LED projector fog lamps and an automatic inside rear-view mirror enhance nighttime visibility. Features like cruise control and a speed limiter make long-distance driving more relaxed, while the rear passengers benefit from roof-mounted AC vents that ensure even cooling through the cabin.

Safety is comprehensive — six airbags, ESP, hill-hold assist, ABS with EBD, and a high-strength body structure form part of a suite that includes over forty active and passive safety features.
Ride and Comfort: The Signature “Flying Carpet” Experience
Citroën’s legendary Advanced Comfort Suspension remains one of its biggest strengths. Tuned specifically for Indian roads, it delivers that signature “flying carpet” effect — gliding over speed bumps, potholes, and rough tarmac with ease. The ride is supple without being floaty, maintaining composure even at highway speeds.

With wide, supportive seats and ample legroom across all rows, the Aircross X easily stands out as one of the most comfortable family SUVs in its category. Practical details like wide-opening doors, a flat floor, and multiple storage spaces make daily usability genuinely easy.
Engines, Transmissions, and Variants
The Aircross X comes with three powertrain configurations that cater to a wide range of needs. The lineup begins with the PureTech 82 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with a manual gearbox, followed by the more powerful PureTech 110 Turbo 1.2-litre petrol unit available with both manual and automatic transmissions.

Pricing starts at ₹8.29 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base YOU variant, moving to ₹11.37 lakh for the PLUS variant with the turbo engine and manual transmission. The range-topping MAX variant, available only with the turbo automatic setup, is priced at ₹13.49 lakh.

Citroën will also offer a CNG kit as a dealer-fitment option, expanding its appeal among value-conscious buyers seeking better running economy.
First Impressions: The most India-focused Citroën yet
After a thorough walkaround, the Citroën Aircross X comes across as the brand’s most complete and locally relevant SUV so far. The design feels confident, the interiors have gained the premium polish Indian customers expect, and CARA’s multilingual AI integration truly sets it apart.
This isn’t just another SUV with European charm; it’s a Citroën built with a deep understanding of India’s driving culture — spacious for families, connected for younger buyers, and comfortable enough for long, unpredictable drives.
The Aircross X might just be the model that brings Citroën into the mainstream, bridging the brand’s global sophistication with local sensibilities. Smart, versatile, and refreshingly original, it signals that Citroën’s Indian innings are only just beginning to get exciting.
