Kia India has taken a major step forward in connected mobility with the introduction of the industry-first Plant Remote Over-The-Air (OTA) technology. The new system will allow the company to remotely update vehicle software at the manufacturing plant itself, ensuring that all vehicles with the Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (CCNC) platform are fully upgraded and ready for customers from the very first day.
This initiative aims to enhance customer satisfaction by minimizing the need for manual updates or dealership visits. Through the Plant Remote OTA feature, customers will receive their vehicles with the latest software pre-installed, ensuring a seamless, intelligent, and future-ready ownership experience.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Atul Sood, Senior Vice President – Sales & Marketing, Kia India, said, “The introduction of the Plant Remote OTA feature exemplifies Kia’s dedication to driving innovation that truly enhances the customer journey. By ensuring every vehicle leaves the plant with the latest software, we are redefining the ownership experience to be more seamless and connected. This milestone reinforces our vision of connected mobility and our commitment to inspiring movement through cutting-edge technology.”
The Plant Remote OTA feature utilizes Controller OTA functionality compliant with the Connected Car System 2.0 (CCS 2.0), underscoring Kia India’s technological leadership in the automotive sector. The company also plans to extend this capability to all upcoming connected models, further bridging the gap between production and delivery while improving security and feature updates.
