TVS Motor Company has introduced a new entry-level electric scooter variant, the TVS Orbiter V1, expanding its electric mobility lineup with a more affordable option. The new model is priced at ₹84,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi), but buyers can purchase it for as low as ₹49,999 by opting for the company’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program.
The Orbiter V1 becomes the most affordable electric scooter in the TVS EV portfolio, targeting budget-conscious urban commuters looking for practical electric mobility solutions.
SMALLER BATTERY WITH PRACTICAL URBAN RANGE
The TVS Orbiter V1 is powered by a 1.8kWh battery pack, offering an IDC-certified range of 86 km on a single charge. While this is lower than the larger 3.1kWh battery used in the Orbiter V2, the smaller battery also results in quicker charging times.

TVS claims the Orbiter V1 can charge from 0 to 80 percent in approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes, compared to the 4 hours and 10 minutes required for the Orbiter V2.
The scooter retains the same design and hardware as the higher-spec variant. It features 14-inch front wheels and 12-inch rear wheels, ensuring stability and balanced ride quality for city commuting.
CONNECTED FEATURES AND RIDING MODES
Despite being the most affordable variant, the Orbiter V1 offers a wide range of modern features. The electric scooter comes with a digital LCD instrument cluster that works alongside a smartphone app to provide connected features such as turn by turn navigation, over-the-air software updates, and safety alerts.
Additional rider assistance features include Eco and Power riding modes, hill-hold assist, cruise control, and parking assist with reverse function. The scooter also includes security functions like anti-theft alerts, crash detection notifications, and geo-fencing capabilities.
Practicality remains a strong focus, with the Orbiter V1 offering an 845 mm long flat seat and 34 litres of underseat storage, making it suitable for daily commuting and short urban trips.
BATTERY AS A SERVICE TO REDUCE UPFRONT COST
One of the biggest highlights of the Orbiter V1 is the introduction of Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) across the TVS electric scooter portfolio. This program allows customers to pay for the scooter chassis upfront while subscribing to the battery through a monthly plan.
BaaS subscription plans start at ₹862 per month and are available for 24, 36, or 60 months. Unlike some competing EV subscription models, TVS has confirmed that there are no restrictions on distance usage regardless of the plan chosen.
Customers opting for the BaaS model also receive a five-year or 70,000 km extended warranty, adding additional peace of mind.
With its lower upfront cost, practical range, and connected features, the TVS Orbiter V1 aims to make electric scooters more accessible to a wider range of Indian consumers.
