Hyundai has revealed the new-generation 2027 Tucson, bringing a radical design overhaul to its popular compact SUV. The new Tucson looks significantly different from its predecessor, with a boxier exterior, prominent fender flares and distinctive full-width lighting elements at both ends. The interior has also been redesigned with a large central touchscreen, a rounded centre console, a two-spoke steering wheel and contrasting orange dashboard accents.

2027 HYUNDAI TUCSON GETS RADICAL NEW DESIGN

The biggest change to the 2027 Hyundai Tucson is its exterior design. Hyundai has moved away from the more angular styling of the outgoing model and introduced a noticeably boxier appearance. The SUV features prominent fender flares that give it a wider and more rugged stance.

At the front, a full-width lighting bar stretches across the nose, creating a futuristic appearance. The headlights feature an angular design that integrates into the overall lighting treatment. A similar full-width lighting element has been used at the rear, while the taillamps also feature a sharp, modern design.

NEW TUCSON INTERIOR GETS A MAJOR OVERHAUL

The interior of the new Tucson receives an equally significant redesign. The dashboard is dominated by a large touchscreen positioned prominently in the centre, following the trend seen across several newer SUVs.

The cabin also gets a rounded centre console and a new two-spoke steering wheel. Orange accents across the dashboard add a contrasting visual element to the interior and give the cabin a more distinctive character than the outgoing Tucson.

HYUNDAI TUCSON POWERTRAIN DETAILS YET TO BE REVEALED

Hyundai has not revealed the powertrain specifications for the new-generation Tucson yet. The company has also not announced the engine outputs, transmission options or detailed performance figures at this stage.

The new Tucson is expected to continue offering both hybrid and non-hybrid powertrain options, although Hyundai has not officially confirmed the complete powertrain range. Further technical details are expected to be announced closer to the SUV’s market launch.

NEW TUCSON COULD STAND OUT IN THE COMPACT SUV SEGMENT

The new-generation Tucson represents a major styling shift for Hyundai. Its boxier proportions, prominent bodywork and full-width lighting elements give it a substantially different identity compared with the previous-generation SUV.

The redesigned cabin also gives the Tucson a more contemporary character, with its large central touchscreen, distinctive steering wheel and new dashboard layout. More information about equipment, dimensions, powertrains and market availability is expected to be announced by Hyundai at a later stage.

IMPLICATIONS

The 2027 Hyundai Tucson marks a dramatic departure from its predecessor, both inside and out. Its boxy exterior, full-width lighting elements and redesigned cabin give the compact SUV a fresh identity. Hyundai has yet to reveal detailed powertrain specifications, but hybrid and non-hybrid versions are expected to remain part of the Tucson line-up. Further details about performance, features and availability will determine how the new Tucson positions itself against rivals in the compact SUV segment.
