UP-JAPAN PARTNERSHIP GAINS MOMENTUM
Speaking at the Uttar Pradesh-Japan Investment Meet 2026 at Taj Palace in New Delhi on August 19, Uttar Pradesh Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna said Japan is increasingly becoming a long-term strategic partner in the state’s development.
Khanna said strong law and order, world-class infrastructure, improved connectivity, investment-friendly policies and a large consumer market have helped position Uttar Pradesh as a promising investment destination.
GROWING CONFIDENCE AMONG JAPANESE INDUSTRY
Khanna highlighted the participation of a large Japanese delegation as evidence of growing confidence among Japanese businesses in Uttar Pradesh. The delegation included Kotaro Nagasaki, Governor of Yamanashi Prefecture.
He said Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s recent visit to Japan has provided fresh momentum to industrial and institutional dialogue between the two sides.
NEW OPPORTUNITIES ACROSS KEY SECTORS
According to Khanna, cooperation between Uttar Pradesh and Japan is expanding across several emerging sectors. Green hydrogen, automobiles, advanced manufacturing, technology, innovation and healthcare are among the areas offering new opportunities for collaboration.
Uttar Pradesh also highlighted skilled human resources and rapidly developing infrastructure as major strengths. Investment facilitation systems such as Nivesh Mitra have helped simplify business processes and accelerate the implementation of investment proposals.
FOCUS ON LONG-TERM DEVELOPMENT
Khanna said Uttar Pradesh does not view Japan merely as an investor but as a trusted partner in sustainable and long-term development. The state is looking to deepen economic, industrial and institutional cooperation with Japanese businesses and institutions.
CONCLUSION
The UP-Japan Investment Meet 2026 underlined the growing strategic relationship between Uttar Pradesh and Japan. With emerging opportunities in green hydrogen, automobiles, advanced manufacturing, technology, innovation and healthcare, the partnership could further strengthen investment and industrial cooperation between the two sides.
