BMW India has launched the new BMW X1 Long Wheelbase (LWB) in India at an introductory ex-showroom price of ₹49.90 lakh. Locally produced at BMW Group Plant Chennai, the new X1 LWB brings a longer wheelbase, increased performance, greater rear-seat space and several digital upgrades.

BMW X1 LWB: PRICE AND DIMENSIONS

The BMW X1 LWB is priced at ₹49.90 lakh (ex-showroom). It measures 4,616mm in length, 2,104mm in width and 1,641mm in height, while its 2,800mm wheelbase makes it the longest car in its segment and one of the most spacious five-seater SUVs in India.

The extended wheelbase provides 150mm of additional rear legroom and 109mm more kneeroom. Rear seats can also recline up to 28.5 degrees, while boot capacity stands at 540 litres and can be expanded to 1,700 litres with the rear seats folded.

BMW X1 LWB PETROL ENGINE AND PERFORMANCE

The X1 LWB is powered by a 1.5-litre BMW TwinPower Turbo petrol engine producing 158.17bhp and 230Nm of torque. It gets front-wheel drive and a seven-speed Steptronic transmission with double-clutch technology. BMW claims a fuel efficiency figure of 15.5kmpl.

FEATURES AND DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY

The new X1 LWB gets a Widescreen Curved Display running BMW Operating System 9, BMW iDrive, BMW OneShop and Remote Software Upgrades. Other highlights include a Harman Kardon sound system, a panoramic sunroof, BMW Digital Premium and BMW Digital Key Plus with Comfort Access.

Safety and driver assistance features include eight airbags, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Assistant, Cruise Control with Braking Function, Automatic Emergency Braking, Parking Assistant Plus with 360-degree surround view and a Reversing Assistant.

A MORE SPACIOUS BMW X1 FOR INDIA

With its longer wheelbase, spacious rear cabin, petrol powertrain and extensive digital equipment, the BMW X1 LWB adds a more comfort-focused option to BMW India’s luxury SUV portfolio. Its local production also strengthens BMW’s focus on expanding its made-in-India electric and premium vehicle range.
