Kinetic Watts & Volts is preparing to take its electric two-wheeler business beyond India, evaluating international markets across Europe, neighbouring countries and Africa as it builds its global growth strategy.

Pune-based Kinetic Watts & Volts Ltd. (KWV) is strengthening its international expansion plans, with the company currently evaluating opportunities in Turkey, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Kenya, Nigeria and Egypt. The move marks the next phase of Kinetic EV’s growth journey as the company looks to establish a sustainable international business around electric two-wheelers.

Turkey has been identified as a key European opportunity, while Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh represent neighbouring markets. In Africa, Kinetic EV is assessing potential in Kenya, Nigeria and Egypt. The company is evaluating these markets based on factors including the potential for electric two-wheelers, regulatory environments, evolving EV ecosystems, customer requirements and opportunities to establish suitable distribution and partnership networks.

The international push comes as Kinetic EV continues to expand its presence in India. The company currently operates 45 exclusive showrooms across the country, with another 40 outlets expected to become operational over the next two months. Additionally, Kinetic Watts & Volts has issued 150 Letters of Intent (LOIs) for its exclusive dealership network, indicating strong interest from prospective partners.

To lead its international business development efforts, Makarand Joshi has joined Kinetic Watts & Volts. According to the company, Joshi brings more than two decades of experience in developing international markets for Indian automotive products, with experience spanning Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Africa. His background covers two-wheelers, commercial vehicles, tractors, international market development and distribution network expansion.

Kinetic Watts & Volts Vice Chairman and Managing Director Ajinkya Firodia said international markets represent an important opportunity for the company as it enters the next phase of its electric mobility journey. He highlighted the company’s focus on accessible, reliable and contemporary electric mobility solutions developed in India for diverse global markets.

Established in September 2022, Kinetic Watts & Volts is the dedicated EV manufacturing subsidiary of Kinetic Engineering Ltd. The company operates an 87,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility equipped with automation and quality systems, with a focus on developing Made-in-India electric mobility products.

With its expanding domestic dealership network and planned international market evaluation, Kinetic EV is now laying the groundwork to evolve from an Indian electric two-wheeler brand into a potential global electric mobility player.
