Raptee.HV has launched a new Centre of Excellence for Electric Mobility at Rajalakshmi Engineering College (REC), Chennai, strengthening industry-academia collaboration and creating a hands-on learning environment for the next generation of EV engineers. The initiative was inaugurated on World EV Day and marks a long-term partnership between Raptee.HV and the engineering institution. 

The 3,000 sq. ft. facility, developed with an investment of ₹50 lakh, is part of Raptee.HV Academy, the company’s broader initiative to bring practical electric vehicle engineering and industry exposure into educational institutions. The centre is designed to help students move beyond conventional classroom learning through experimentation, prototyping and exposure to real-world EV systems. 

The facility features a Raptee.HV T30, core EV components, a naked motorcycle equipped with digital twin technology, interactive learning modules and dedicated prototyping areas. Students from Electrical, Electronics and Automotive Engineering disciplines will gain practical exposure to battery packs, electric motors, power electronics, charging infrastructure, vehicle communication and real-time diagnostics. 

The partnership was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Raptee.HV and Rajalakshmi Engineering College. It will facilitate industrial training, site visits, guest lectures, internships, industry-oriented courses and joint research projects. The collaboration is also expected to support faculty development, industry-linked projects and intellectual property creation. 

Dinesh Arjun, Co-founder and CEO of Raptee.HV, highlighted the importance of practical engineering exposure in developing future mobility technologies. Meanwhile, REC Vice Chairman Abhay Meganathan S said the centre would provide students and faculty with opportunities to work with advanced EV technologies, undertake industry-oriented projects and pursue research and innovation. 

Rajalakshmi Engineering College already has an extensive research ecosystem, with multiple Centres of Excellence covering areas including Artificial Intelligence, Machine Vision, Renewable Energy, Data Science, Digital Manufacturing and IoT. The institution also has partnerships with more than 100 industries.
