KTM 690 Rally has been unveiled in Europe as a new rally-focused adventure motorcycle, positioned as a spiritual successor to the iconic 640 Adventure. Based on the LC4 platform also used by the KTM 690 Enduro R and 690 SMC R, the new motorcycle is designed for riders looking to explore challenging off-road terrain.

At the heart of the KTM 690 Rally is a 693cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 79 bhp and 73 Nm of torque. The motorcycle weighs just 161.5kg dry, making it particularly lightweight for a large-capacity adventure bike. Its tall stance is complemented by a 935mm seat height and an impressive 265mm of ground clearance, helping it tackle rough trails and obstacles.

The motorcycle also gets a 20-litre switchable fuel tank, giving it the capacity required for longer-distance adventure riding. KTM has equipped the Rally with a 4.2-inch TFT instrument cluster, while riders get three selectable riding modes. A dedicated Rally mode is available as an option for those seeking a more off-road-focused setup.

For added convenience during aggressive riding, the KTM 690 Rally comes with an up-and-down quickshifter. Suspension duties are handled by fully adjustable front and rear units, allowing riders to tailor the motorcycle for different terrain and riding conditions.

Visually, the 690 Rally differentiates itself from the 690 Enduro R with a new headlight design inspired by KTM’s latest Adventure models. Its rally-oriented bodywork and tall proportions further reinforce its focus on off-road performance.

The KTM 690 Rally is scheduled to become available in Europe from October, with production taking place at KTM’s Mattighofen factory. The company has not yet announced its pricing. For reference, the KTM 690 Enduro R is priced at around EUR 13,599 in Austria, equivalent to approximately ₹15.10 lakh. The 690 Rally is expected to command a premium over the Enduro R.

An India launch is unlikely in the near term, making the KTM 690 Rally primarily a European-market proposition for now.
