Kawasaki has introduced the 2027 Vulcan S in India with a handful of updates aimed at refreshing its distinctive middleweight cruiser. Priced at ₹8.23 lakh (ex-showroom), the latest model is ₹10,000 more expensive than the outgoing version. The motorcycle continues with its familiar low-slung cruiser design, 649cc parallel-twin engine and rider-friendly ergonomics. 

2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S: Price and Updates

The 2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S is available in a single standard configuration in India. The latest model gets a new Metallic Carbon Gray with Metallic Bluish Green colour combination, replacing the previous paint scheme. The overall styling remains largely unchanged, retaining the Vulcan S’s long, low stance and distinctive cruiser proportions. 

The biggest engine-related update is the return of additional torque. The motorcycle continues to use Kawasaki’s 649cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine, producing 60.2 bhp at 7,500rpm and 62.4Nm of torque at 6,600rpm. Torque is up by 1.4Nm compared with the 2026 model, while peak power remains unchanged. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox. 

Revised Brakes and Familiar Hardware

The 2027 Vulcan S also receives changes to its braking hardware. The motorcycle now uses smaller brake rotors, with the front disc measuring 272mm and the rear disc measuring 216mm. Dual-channel ABS continues to be offered as standard. The suspension setup remains familiar, with a 41mm telescopic front fork and a linkage-equipped rear monoshock with preload adjustment. 

The cruiser retains its 705mm seat height, 14-litre fuel tank and 130mm ground clearance. Its official kerb mass stands at 235kg, while the motorcycle continues to feature 18-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels. 

With its accessible seat height, parallel-twin engine and unconventional cruiser layout, the Vulcan S remains a distinctive option in India’s premium middleweight motorcycle space. Deliveries of the updated model are scheduled to begin in mid-September 2026.
