Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) has taken on an expanded strategic role within Daimler Truck, with India becoming the anchor entity for the newly established ISEAA customer region covering India, South-East Asia and Australia-Pacific. The announcement was made at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hanover, Germany, alongside details of the next phase of BharatBenz growth.
The new ISEAA structure brings together markets previously managed separately under one customer-focused framework. The Mercedes-Benz Trucks segment now operates across four customer regions: Europe, LAMEA, China and ISEAA. Within this structure, BharatBenz will continue serving Indian customers through DICV, while Mercedes-Benz Trucks will cater to markets across South-East Asia and Australia-Pacific.
India Becomes a Key Regional Hub
The ISEAA region covers 42 countries and nearly 2.8 billion people, with commercial vehicle demand across the region expected to grow by more than 5% annually. DICV’s position as the regional anchor builds on its manufacturing, engineering and export capabilities. The company has already exported more than 75,000 trucks and buses and over 330 million parts to more than 70 markets worldwide.
For BharatBenz customers, DICV is also advancing product and technology development. The company is preparing its truck and bus portfolio with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) calibrated for Indian operating conditions and designed to support evolving safety regulations. BharatBenz is also expanding the adoption of Torqshift Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) technology, which is designed to improve driver comfort, reduce fatigue and support more efficient fleet operations.
BharatBenz Customer Support Network to Expand
DICV is strengthening its customer ecosystem through TruckConnect, its digital fleet management solution, while the BharatBenz Rakshana service assurance programme currently services and delivers more than 98% of vehicles within 48 hours. The company plans to increase its nationwide service network from 430 touchpoints to 600 by 2030, particularly across northern, eastern and north-eastern India.
₹4,000 Crore Additional Investment
DICV has reaffirmed an additional investment of approximately ₹4,000 crore in Tamil Nadu, taking its cumulative investment in India to more than ₹14,500 crore. The investment is aimed at strengthening manufacturing capacity, R&D infrastructure and future technologies. DICV currently has 92% localisation and works with more than 400 local suppliers.
For India’s commercial vehicle industry, DICV’s new ISEAA role strengthens the country’s position as a manufacturing, engineering and export hub while supporting BharatBenz’s next phase of growth in safety, productivity, connectivity and customer support.
