Meta has expanded its AI glasses portfolio with the launch of Ray-Ban Meta Audio, a new audio-first smart glasses model developed in partnership with EssilorLuxottica. Unveiled at Meta Connect 2026, the glasses combine Ray-Ban’s familiar styling with open-ear audio, hands-free AI and extended battery life — without including a camera.
Ray-Ban Meta Audio: Key Highlights
The Ray-Ban Meta Audio is Meta’s first dedicated audio glasses. At just 43 grams, the glasses are designed for all-day use and feature adjustable or swappable nose pads, professional-adjustable temple tips and overextension hinges for improved comfort.

The glasses allow users to listen to music and podcasts, make phone calls and communicate with an AI assistant without needing to take out their smartphone. Meta says the microphones are designed to capture the wearer’s voice more clearly than conventional earbuds.
The open-ear speaker system is designed to keep users aware of their surroundings while listening to audio, making the glasses different from conventional in-ear headphones.
Up to 12 Hours of Battery Life
Battery life is another major highlight of Ray-Ban Meta Audio. Meta claims up to 12 hours of use on a single charge, while the included charging case provides up to another 48 hours of battery life.

The combination of extended battery life and an audio-first design is aimed at users who want hands-free access to music, calls and AI throughout the day without constantly reaching for their phones.
Two New Ray-Ban Styles and 23 Combinations
Ray-Ban Meta Audio will be available in 23 colour and lens combinations across two styles.

The Clubmaster brings Ray-Ban’s recognizable retro-inspired silhouette, while the Burbank uses a classic rectangular design. Both are compatible with a wide range of optical prescriptions, expanding the product beyond conventional sunglasses use.
Price and Availability
Ray-Ban Meta Audio is available for pre-order starting at $349 in the US, with shipments scheduled to begin on October 13, 2026.

Meta has not positioned the product simply as another pair of wireless headphones. Instead, Ray-Ban Meta Audio forms part of the company’s broader strategy to make AI glasses a mainstream computing platform.

Meta says its expanded AI glasses portfolio will include more than 100 options across Ray-Ban, Oakley and Meta Glasses by the end of 2026, including different designs, colours and capabilities.
Meta Brings Muse AI to Its Glasses
Alongside Ray-Ban Meta Audio, Meta announced that its Muse personal AI agent will be coming to its AI glasses in the coming months.

Muse is designed to provide hands-free assistance and can use what the wearer is looking at to help answer questions or perform tasks. Meta has demonstrated potential applications such as identifying products, reading information and helping users manage everyday activities.

The company is therefore moving beyond glasses that simply capture photos, play audio or respond to basic voice commands. With Muse, Meta is working toward glasses that can act as a more capable personal AI interface throughout the day.
Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 Also Introduced
Meta also unveiled Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3), featuring a slimmer design, up to nine hours of battery life, a customizable action button and a six-microphone array. The new generation also gets a 12MP camera with 3K Ultra HD video recording. Prices start at $449.

Together, Ray-Ban Meta Audio, Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 and the wider Meta Glasses lineup show Meta’s expanding push into wearable AI. Rather than relying solely on smartphones, the company is increasingly putting AI-powered experiences directly into devices users can wear throughout the day.
