Renault has expanded the Triber lineup with a new turbo-petrol variant, bringing stronger performance to its practical seven-seat MPV.
Renault has launched the much-awaited Triber Turbo in India at an introductory price of ₹7.84 lakh (ex-showroom). The new version addresses the performance gap of the existing Triber by adding a turbocharged petrol engine while retaining the MPV’s seven-seat practicality. The turbo variants command a premium of around ₹94,000 to ₹1.11 lakh over comparable naturally aspirated versions.
Renault Triber Turbo: Engine and Performance
The biggest change is under the bonnet. The Triber Turbo uses a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine from Renault’s HR10 engine family. In the Triber, the motor produces 100 bhp and 180 Nm of torque.
Renault has paired the engine with a 5-speed manual gearbox at launch. The company is also expected to introduce a CVT automatic option at a later stage, giving buyers an additional transmission choice.
The Triber Turbo can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in a claimed 10.8 seconds, making it considerably more performance-oriented while maintaining the vehicle’s compact dimensions and three-row layout.
The same engine family is used in Renault’s Kiger and Duster, although the Triber receives a different engine-management calibration that enables its higher torque output.
What Makes the Triber Turbo Different?
Apart from the new powertrain, the Turbo version continues to focus on the Triber’s core strengths: flexible seating, compact dimensions and family-friendly practicality. Renault had already updated the Triber with additional features and equipment earlier in 2026.
The turbocharged engine should particularly appeal to buyers who regularly travel with multiple passengers and luggage and want stronger acceleration than the naturally aspirated model provides.
With the ₹7.84 lakh starting price, the Renault Triber Turbo adds a more powerful option to the affordable seven-seat MPV space. The upcoming CVT version could further broaden its appeal once it reaches the market.
