Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has introduced the 2026 Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition in India, bringing updated exterior styling, a revised cabin experience and additional convenience features to its popular premium SUV. Prices start at ₹36.51 lakh (ex-showroom) for the manual variant, while the automatic version is priced at ₹38.72 lakh.

The new Fortuner Leader Edition is aimed at buyers looking for a more distinctive appearance, with exclusive black exterior accents, dual-tone interior elements and features designed to enhance everyday convenience. Bookings will open on 12 October 2026 through Toyota’s official website and authorised dealerships.

2026 Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition: Price and Variants

The 2026 Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition is available in two transmission options, both featuring a 4×2 drivetrain.

  • Fortuner Leader Edition 4×2 MT: ₹36.51 lakh
  • Fortuner Leader Edition 4×2 AT: ₹38.72 lakh

All prices are ex-showroom. Toyota has not announced a separate 4×4 variant for the Leader Edition in the supplied launch announcement.

Exterior Design: Black Accents and Exclusive Styling

The latest edition receives several cosmetic updates that distinguish it from the standard Fortuner. These changes focus on giving the SUV a more individual and premium appearance while retaining its familiar, muscular design.

Exterior highlights include a signature front grille design, gloss-black alloy wheels with matching hub caps, a black roof treatment, a black-finished antenna and black rear door garnish. The SUV also features body-side mouldings and an exclusive hood emblem.

The dual-tone black roof complements the Fortuner’s upright stance, while the darker exterior elements create a more contrasting visual appearance. These updates are primarily focused on styling rather than a reported mechanical overhaul.

Interior and Features

Inside, the 2026 Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition receives dual-tone black and maroon seat upholstery, accompanied by matching black-and-maroon door trims. Ambient lighting and illuminated scuff plates are among the key additions to the cabin.

The updated feature list also includes auto-folding outside rear-view mirrors (ORVMs) and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). These additions are intended to improve convenience and provide drivers with additional information about tyre pressure.

Toyota has not announced any changes to the engine specifications or performance figures specifically for the Leader Edition in the supplied launch details.

Colour Options

The new Fortuner Leader Edition will be offered in three exterior colour options:

  • Super White
  • Platinum White Pearl
  • Attitude Black

These colour choices are paired with the edition’s exclusive exterior detailing and dual-tone cabin treatment.

Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition: Ownership Benefits

Toyota is also highlighting its ownership support and finance options alongside the launch. Customers can access finance plans of up to seven years, Toyota Smart Balloon Finance and pre-approved options for value-added services, including extended warranty and Toyota Genuine Accessories.

The ownership package includes five years of complimentary roadside assistance and a standard warranty of three years or 1,00,000 km, whichever comes first. Customers can extend the warranty up to five years or 2,20,000 km. The Toyota Smiles Plus service programme also offers customisable service options.

A Premium SUV with an Established Track Record

The Toyota Fortuner has been a prominent name in India’s premium SUV segment for more than 15 years. According to Toyota Kirloskar Motor, the model has sold over 3.3 lakh units, building its reputation around a commanding road presence, robust performance, 4×4 capability in applicable variants and strong resale value.

The Leader Edition builds on that established identity with styling and convenience upgrades rather than a major mechanical revision. Its pricing places it in the premium SUV category, with the choice of manual and automatic transmissions giving buyers two options within the new edition.

Bookings for the 2026 Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition open on 12 October 2026. Interested customers can reserve the SUV through Toyota India or visit their nearest authorised Toyota dealership for further details.
