Armin Strom has introduced the Mirrored Force Resonance Zeitgeist 1665 3N, a limited-edition mechanical timepiece that combines a yellow-gold-coloured movement with contemporary watchmaking architecture. Limited to just 25 pieces worldwide, the new model features the independent Swiss watchmaker’s patented resonance technology, traditional hand-finishing and a distinctive black lacquered dial.

The latest Zeitgeist edition draws inspiration from 1665, when Dutch scientist Christiaan Huygens observed the synchronisation of two pendulum clocks. Armin Strom translates this phenomenon into a wristwatch through its in-house Calibre ARF21_ZG, which uses two independent regulating systems connected by a patented resonance clutch. The mechanism allows the balance wheels to synchronise through the physical phenomenon of resonance, with the system engineered to maintain synchronisation during everyday wrist wear.

Yellow Gold Meets Contemporary Watchmaking

The Mirrored Force Resonance Zeitgeist 1665 3N features a 43 mm stainless steel case paired with an off-centre black “vernis laqué poli” dial. Its defining visual element is the 3N yellow-gold-coloured mainplate and bridges, finished with a matte surface that contrasts with the black dial.

The movement’s open-worked construction highlights its intricate architecture, while hand-bevelled and polished edges, black-polished screws, perlage and circular graining demonstrate the brand’s attention to traditional finishing techniques. Heat-blued stainless steel hands, manufactured and finished by Armin Strom, add another classical detail. The watch is completed by a dark grey Alcantara strap with grey stitching.

In-House Calibre Offers 80-Hour Power Reserve

The manually wound Calibre ARF21_ZG operates at 3.5 Hz, equivalent to 25,200 vibrations per hour, and comprises 260 components and 39 jewels. It delivers an 80-hour power reserve through two independent barrels.

Another key feature is the twin-seconds flyback mechanism, which allows both seconds hands to reset simultaneously. The movement measures 37.20 mm in diameter and 6.70 mm in height, while the complete watch measures 11.55 mm thick. Water resistance is rated at 3 ATM.

Armin Strom also follows a two-stage assembly process, assembling each watch once for operation and again to verify its performance and precision.

Price and Availability

The Armin Strom Mirrored Force Resonance Zeitgeist 1665 3N is limited to 25 pieces worldwide, with each case back individually engraved “1 out of 25”. The timepiece is priced at CHF 82,000.

With its combination of resonance engineering, gold-toned movement architecture and meticulous hand-finishing, the latest Zeitgeist edition continues Armin Strom’s focus on mechanical transparency and independent Swiss haute horlogerie.
