has officially launched the new BMW M 1000 R in India, expanding its high performance M series motorcycle lineup. The supersport roadster is priced from ₹33.50 lakh (ex-showroom) and will be available as a Completely Built-Up Unit (CBU) across BMW Motorrad India dealerships. Pre-orders have already begun, while deliveries are scheduled to commence from May 2026.
The new M 1000 R blends the raw performance of a superbike with the versatility of a roadster, bringing track level engineering and aggressive styling to the Indian premium motorcycle market.
AGGRESSIVE DESIGN INSPIRED BY BMW’S RR MODELS
The BMW M 1000 R features a compact and aggressive design language that reflects its racing pedigree. At the front, the motorcycle receives new dual-flow LED headlights derived from BMW’s RR models, giving it a sharp and unmistakable appearance.

Another standout design feature is the M Winglets, which generate additional aerodynamic downforce during high-speed riding. At 220 kmph, these winglets increase the load on the front wheel by up to 11 kg, enhancing stability and control.
The motorcycle is available in distinctive colour schemes including Light White non-metallic / M Motorsport and White Aluminium metallic matt, while the M Competition Package adds the striking Blackstorm metallic / M Motorsport finish along with several carbon fibre components.
HIGH-PERFORMANCE INLINE-FOUR ENGINE
Powering the BMW M 1000 R is a 999cc water cooled inline four cylinder engine, derived from BMW’s superbike platform. The engine produces an impressive 210 hp at 13,750 rpm and 113 Nm of torque at 11,100 rpm, delivering explosive acceleration and exceptional track performance.

The motorcycle can sprint from 0–100 kmph in just 3.2 seconds and achieve a top speed of up to 280 kmph.
BMW’s advanced ShiftCam technology optimizes valve timing to deliver strong torque at lower revs while maintaining high peak power. Other performance enhancements include titanium valves, lighter cam followers, optimized camshafts, and shorter intake funnels for improved airflow at high engine speeds.
ADVANCED ELECTRONICS AND RIDER ASSISTANCE
The BMW M 1000 R is packed with cutting-edge electronics designed for both street and track riding. It features a 6.5-inch TFT instrument display with an M-themed startup animation and integrated support for the M GPS Datalogger and Laptrigger system.

Riders can select from multiple riding modes including Rain, Road, Dynamic, Race, and Race Pro 1–3, allowing customization of throttle response, engine braking, traction control, and ABS settings.
The latest generation Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) with wheelie control uses a 6-axis sensor system to deliver optimal stability in different riding conditions. Track-focused features such as Launch Control and a pit-lane limiter further highlight the motorcycle’s racing DNA.
OPTIONAL M COMPETITION PACKAGE
For enthusiasts seeking maximum performance and exclusivity, the M Competition Package includes M Carbon wheels, carbon fibre body components, M GPS Laptrigger, adjustable rider footrests, and various lightweight performance parts.

BMW Motorrad also offers flexible financing solutions, rider gear financing, and a standard three-year unlimited kilometre warranty, with optional extended coverage for added peace of mind.
With its race-derived engineering, aggressive styling, and advanced electronics, the BMW M 1000 R sets a new benchmark for high-performance roadster motorcycles in India.
