Luxury Swiss watchmaker Breitling has introduced two new high-complication timepieces under its legendary Breitling Navitimer B19 collection. The new Navitimer B19 models represent the most technically advanced expression of the iconic pilot’s chronograph, combining heritage design with the brand’s latest perpetual-calendar chronograph movement.

First introduced in 1952 for the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), the Navitimer quickly became an essential aviation tool. Its patented circular slide rule allowed pilots to perform crucial flight calculations directly from the wrist, making it one of the most recognizable pilot watches ever produced.

The latest Navitimer B19 models push the watch into new territory with the introduction of the Breitling Caliber B19 manufacture movement. First revealed in 2024 during Breitling’s 140th anniversary celebrations, the B19 represents a significant engineering milestone. It combines Breitling’s chronograph expertise with a full perpetual calendar capable of automatically adjusting for leap years and varying month lengths for up to a century.

Technically, the B19 movement delivers a 96-hour power reserve and is COSC-certified for chronometer-level precision. The watch also features a convenient crown-based one-step correction system that advances all calendar indications simultaneously. Individual calendar adjustments can be made via two discreet pushers positioned at 8 and 10 ‘o’clock. A sapphire caseback reveals the movement’s solid 18-karat red-gold rotor.

Breitling has released the Navitimer B19 in two striking configurations inspired by aviation altitudes. The first is a limited edition of just 75 pieces crafted entirely from platinum. This version features a deep blue lacquered dial inspired by the darkening sky seen at high cruising altitudes, paired with a black slide rule and white inner scale.

The second variant combines a stainless-steel case with a platinum bezel and an anthracite dial that reflects the vast stillness of outer space. It is available with either a brown alligator strap or a seven-row stainless-steel bracelet.

Both watches feature refined design elements including raised metal rings around the subdials, a detailed moonphase display at 12 o’clock, and Breitling’s signature knurled bezel.

With the Navitimer B19, Breitling successfully merges heritage aviation design, high-level horology, and modern materials, reaffirming the Navitimer’s status as one of the most iconic pilot watches ever created.
