Volkswagen India has officially unveiled the 2026 Volkswagen Taigun facelift, bringing a host of design enhancements, feature upgrades, and improved technology to strengthen its position in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment.

The biggest highlight of the update is the introduction of a panoramic sunroof, a much-awaited feature that significantly enhances cabin openness and overall premium appeal. Alongside this, Volkswagen has focused on improving passenger comfort with features like ventilated seats and upgraded interior materials, making the Taigun more appealing to urban buyers.

Panoramic sunroof finally arrives, adding a more open and premium cabin experience

On the exterior, the facelifted Taigun takes inspiration from Volkswagen’s global SUV lineup, particularly the Tiguan. It gets a redesigned front fascia with chrome-accented horizontal slats, new LED headlamps with connected DRLs, and an illuminated VW logo, adding a modern and sophisticated touch. The rear profile is also updated with sleeker LED tail lamps featuring sequential turn indicators, enhancing its road presence.

Adding to its refreshed styling, the Taigun facelift now comes equipped with newly designed alloy wheels, including sporty glossy black options and stylish dual-tone finishes. These updated wheels not only enhance the SUV’s visual appeal but also give it a more aggressive and dynamic stance on the road, perfectly complementing its modern design language and performance-oriented character.

Inside the cabin, the Taigun now features a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system equipped with AI-based voice assistant technology. These updates ensure a more intuitive and connected driving experience.

Under the hood, the Taigun continues with its proven turbo-petrol engine lineup. The 1.0-litre TSI engine produces 115 bhp and 178 Nm, now paired with a new 8-speed automatic gearbox for smoother performance. Meanwhile, the more powerful 1.5-litre TSI delivers 150 bhp and 250 Nm, mated to a 7-speed DSG transmission, offering a balance of performance and efficiency.
