Honda Cars India has officially launched the updated Honda City facelift in the Indian market, with prices starting from Rs 12 lakh and going up to Rs 21 lakh (ex-showroom). This marks the second facelift for the fifth-generation Honda City, which originally debuted in India in 2020. With sharper styling, improved features, and enhanced technology, the updated sedan aims to strengthen its position in the premium midsize sedan segment.

The new Honda City facelift continues to rival popular sedans like the Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus, and Skoda Slavia. Honda has retained the City’s premium appeal while adding a more modern and sporty design language.

At the front, the sedan gets a redesigned blacked-out fascia with a honeycomb-pattern grille and connected LED headlights. The Honda logo has also been repositioned above the grille, giving the car a cleaner and more sophisticated appearance. Other exterior updates include newly designed alloy wheels, revised rear bumpers, a subtle lip spoiler, and updated LED tail-lamps.

Inside the cabin, Honda has upgraded the City facelift with several premium features and technology enhancements. The sedan now comes equipped with a larger 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, ventilated front seats, ambient dashboard lighting, and a 360-degree camera system. Honda has also included Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), making the City one of the most safety-focused sedans in its segment.

Under the hood, the Honda City facelift continues with the same engine options as before. Buyers can choose between the 1.5-litre i-VTEC naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 121 bhp and the 1.5-litre strong-hybrid e:HEV powertrain generating 126 bhp. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 7-step CVT for the petrol variant, while the hybrid version gets an e-CVT transmission.

Honda claims an impressive fuel efficiency figure of 27.26kmpl for the hybrid variant, making it one of the most fuel-efficient premium sedans currently on sale in India.

While the base variant pricing remains unchanged, the top-end ZX+ petrol-CVT variant has become more expensive by Rs 1.08 lakh. The City e:HEV hybrid variant has also received a price increase of around Rs 1 lakh.

With updated styling, premium features, advanced safety technology, and efficient hybrid powertrains, the Honda City facelift continues to remain one of the strongest contenders in India’s premium sedan market.
