Tata Motors has fully revealed the exterior design of the upcoming Sierra EV ahead of its official launch on June 30. The electric SUV stays largely faithful to the design showcased earlier while introducing subtle EV-specific styling changes that distinguish it from its internal combustion engine counterpart.

The Sierra EV adopts Tata’s familiar approach of differentiating its electric vehicles through minor cosmetic revisions. While the overall silhouette remains unchanged, the electric version receives a body-coloured blanked-off grille in place of the conventional grille seen on the ICE model. The lighting setup continues unchanged, although the Sierra EV omits the ‘Sierra’ script positioned beneath the LED light bar on the standard model.
SUBTLE EV-SPECIFIC DESIGN CHANGES
The front bumper features a gloss-black finish combined with a silver skid-plate effect, creating a cleaner and more modern appearance. Tata has effectively reversed the colour treatment used on the ICE version, giving the Sierra EV a distinct visual identity without altering its core design.

Along the sides and at the rear, changes are minimal. Exclusive ‘Sierra.ev’ badging on the front doors and tailgate serves as the primary identifier. The 19-inch alloy wheel design remains unchanged, although Tata is expected to offer new colour options, including the silver finish showcased on the revealed model.
FEATURE-RICH CABIN EXPECTED
While Tata has not yet unveiled the interior, the Sierra EV is expected to closely mirror the standard Sierra’s cabin layout. Higher variants are likely to feature a triple-screen setup comprising a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and a dedicated 12.3-inch passenger display.

Other expected features include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated and powered front seats, premium audio system, head-up display and multiple drive modes. Lower trims may feature a dual-screen configuration while retaining several premium convenience features.
HARRIER EV UNDERPINNINGS LIKELY
The Sierra EV is expected to share much of its mechanical package with the recently launched Harrier EV. Built on Tata’s advanced acti.ev+ architecture, the electric SUV is likely to be offered with 65kWh and 75kWh battery pack options.

Tata has already confirmed that the Sierra EV will be available with an all-wheel-drive configuration, expected on top-spec variants. Rear-wheel-drive versions are likely to be offered on lower trims. Given its smaller size and lower weight compared to the Harrier EV, the Sierra EV could potentially deliver a higher driving range than the Harrier EV’s claimed 627km figure.
POSITIONED BETWEEN CURVV EV AND HARRIER EV
Once launched, the Sierra EV will occupy a strategic position in Tata Motors’ expanding electric vehicle portfolio, sitting between the Curvv EV and Harrier EV. The model is expected to be priced between ₹18 lakh and ₹25 lakh (ex-showroom).

In the Indian market, the Sierra EV will compete against rivals such as the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV and the upcoming Maruti e Vitara, further intensifying competition in the midsize electric SUV segment.
