Hyundai Motor India has introduced a new Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) ownership model for the CRETA Electric, reducing the electric SUV’s starting price to ₹10.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The initiative is designed to make EV ownership more accessible by separating the battery cost from the vehicle purchase price, allowing customers to opt for flexible battery payment plans while enjoying the benefits of Hyundai’s latest electric SUV.
LOWER ENTRY PRICE WITH FLEXIBLE BATTERY PLANS
The newly launched Battery-as-a-Service model significantly lowers the upfront cost of owning the Hyundai CRETA Electric. Customers can now purchase the SUV at a starting price of ₹10.99 lakh while paying battery EMIs starting from just ₹3.9 per kilometre, depending on the selected plan. Hyundai says this flexible ownership model is aimed at removing one of the biggest hurdles for EV buyers—the higher initial purchase price—making electric mobility more affordable for a wider audience.
NEW FEATURES ENHANCE THE OWNERSHIP EXPERIENCE
Along with the introduction of BaaS, Hyundai has updated the CRETA Electric with several practical additions. The SUV now comes equipped with an integrated side foot step that makes entering and exiting the vehicle easier while also enhancing its premium SUV appearance. Responding to customer demand, Hyundai has also upgraded the Home Charger variants by including a 7.4 kW wall box charger, offering a faster and more convenient home charging solution.
ADVANCED PERFORMANCE AND TECHNOLOGY
The Hyundai CRETA Electric continues to offer two battery options: a 42 kWh pack and a larger 51.4 kWh battery that delivers an ARAI-certified driving range of up to 510 km. The SUV supports DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 39 minutes. It also comes equipped with premium technologies such as Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), Hyundai SmartSense Level 2 ADAS, Single Pedal Drive (i-Pedal), Digital Key functionality, Active Air Flaps for improved aerodynamics, and an 8-year/160,000 km battery warranty.
EXPANDING INDIA’S EV ECOSYSTEM
Hyundai continues to strengthen India’s electric vehicle infrastructure alongside the launch of the new ownership model. The company has already established charging infrastructure across 183 locations, including more than 214 DC fast chargers and nearly 400 charging points. Through the myHyundai app, owners can conveniently locate and access over 10,000 charging stations across the country, making long-distance EV travel more practical and hassle-free.
A BIG STEP TOWARDS AFFORDABLE ELECTRIC MOBILITY

With the introduction of Battery-as-a-Service, Hyundai is making the CRETA Electric more accessible without compromising on technology, comfort or performance. The lower entry price, combined with premium features, flexible battery financing, long driving range and an expanding charging network, strengthens the CRETA Electric’s position in India’s growing EV market. The move also reflects Hyundai’s long-term commitment to accelerating electric vehicle adoption by making sustainable mobility easier and more affordable for Indian customers.
