Volkswagen has officially introduced the all-new ID Cross, its first compact electric crossover, expanding the company’s growing electric vehicle portfolio. Built on the latest MEB+ electric platform, the new crossover combines SUV-inspired styling with the practicality of a compact hatchback. Sharing its core architecture with the recently unveiled ID Polo, the ID Cross offers more space, a higher driving position and modern technology, making it an attractive option for buyers looking to switch to electric mobility. The model is already available for order in selected international markets, with prices starting at approximately ₹30.77 lakh.

RUGGED DESIGN WITH MODERN FEATURES

The ID Cross adopts Volkswagen’s latest design language, featuring connected LED headlamps, an illuminated Volkswagen badge and a bold front bumper finished with black protective cladding. Chunky wheel arches, 18-inch alloy wheels and a roof spoiler further enhance its crossover appearance. Inside, the cabin offers a clean and technology-focused layout with a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a floating centre console that improves storage space. Premium equipment includes dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, wireless smartphone connectivity, a 360-degree camera, advanced driver assistance systems, powered front seats and optional features such as a Harman Kardon audio system and panoramic glass roof.
BATTERY, RANGE AND PERFORMANCE

Volkswagen offers the ID Cross with two battery pack choices. The entry-level 37 kWh battery is available in two power outputs of 116 hp and 135 hp, delivering a maximum WLTP-certified driving range of up to 317 km. Buyers seeking stronger performance can opt for the larger 52 kWh battery, which produces 211 hp and 290 Nm of torque while offering a driving range of up to 427 km on a single charge. Fast-charging capability is another highlight, with the smaller battery supporting 90 kW DC charging and the larger pack supporting up to 105 kW DC charging, allowing a 10 to 80 percent recharge in around 23 to 24 minutes.
