Mercedes-Benz has launched the 2026 Mercedes-AMG E 53 in India at a starting price of ₹1.45 crore (ex-showroom). The performance sedan is available in two versions – the Performance Edition priced at ₹1.45 crore and the Racing Edition at ₹1.48 crore. Compared to the standard E-Class, the AMG model gets a more powerful plug-in hybrid powertrain, sharper styling and several performance-focused upgrades.

POWERFUL PLUG-IN HYBRID

The AMG E 53 is powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six petrol engine paired with an electric motor and a 21.2 kWh battery pack. The combined output stands at 585 hp and 750 Nm, sent to all four wheels through Mercedes’ 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system and a 9-speed automatic gearbox. The sedan accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 4 seconds, while the Racing Edition offers a higher top speed of 280 km/h.

DESIGN AND FEATURES

The AMG E 53 gets an aggressive AMG grille, larger air intakes, wider front fenders, 20-inch alloy wheels, quad exhaust tips and a rear spoiler. Inside, it features AMG sports seats, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.4-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Burmester audio system, head-up display, wireless charging, ambient lighting and a 360-degree camera.

PERFORMANCE UPGRADES

Mercedes has equipped the AMG E 53 with an electronic rear limited-slip differential, adaptive air suspension, rear-axle steering and a high-performance braking system for improved handling. The luxury performance sedan rivals the BMW M5 and Porsche Panamera in the Indian market.
