Mercedes-Benz has officially revealed the third-generation GLA, introducing both petrol and electric versions under a single nameplate for the first time. Built on the brand’s new MMA platform, the latest GLA features a fresh exterior design, a technology-rich interior and multiple powertrain options. The electric version offers a claimed driving range of up to 657 km, while the petrol model continues with a mild-hybrid turbocharged engine.
NEW DESIGN AND BIGGER DIMENSIONS
The new GLA adopts Mercedes-Benz’s latest SUV design language with redesigned LED lighting, illuminated grille options and alloy wheels up to 20 inches. Compared to its predecessor, it is longer, wider and offers more cabin space along with a larger 410-litre boot. The EV version also adds a practical 107-litre front trunk.

FEATURES AND MARKET POSITION
Inside, the new GLA offers an optional triple-screen MBUX display, Burmester 3D sound system, panoramic sunroof, 64-colour ambient lighting and Level 2 driver assistance features. The EV lineup also supports 320 kW DC fast charging. Mercedes-Benz plans to introduce the petrol-powered GLA globally in 2027, while the new-generation SUV is expected to reach India at a later stage with a premium price tag.
