BYD India has confirmed that the price of the BYD Sealion 7 will go up from 1 january 2026. The company has also said that anyone who books the suv before 31 december 2025 can still get it at the present ex-showroom price.

Right now, the BYD Sealion 7 is sold in two versions. The premium and the performance model, both using an 82.56 kWh battery. The premium costs ₹48,90,000 and the performance is priced at ₹54,90,000.

The suv was shown publicly at the bharat mobility global expo in early 2025 and it caught attention right away. The brand claims the car has already crossed 2,000 sales in India, which is a strong number for a premium electric suv in its first months. Many buyers are moving to electric cars that feel fast, look modern and offer long range.

Rajeev chauhan, who leads the electric passenger vehicle business at Byd India, said that the Sealion 7 has connected with the audience faster than expected. He mentioned that the company planned the price update for 2026, but wanted to give buyers some time with the current pricing. According to him, the car will stay an important model for the brand as it grows its network in India.

The performance version of the suv is quick. It does 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, while the premium version does it in 6.7 seconds. The claimed range is 542 km for the performance model and 567 km for the premium (nedc). The battery is part of the structure of the car, which is called cell-to-body by BYD. The setup improves cabin space and gives a stronger base for the vehicle.

The length of the suv is 4,830 mm, and the wheelbase is 2,930 mm, which gives it a big road presence and more space inside. It also carries a 5-star safety rating, which is an important factor for buyers in this segment.

BYD India currently has 47 showrooms in 40 cities. The company says that a wider network means faster delivery and better support for electric cars. Global sales of BYD’S new energy vehicles have crossed 14 million. The brand links this to a big reduction in emissions, which is one of its main goals.

The price change in january shows how the premium electric market is shifting, and the BYD Sealion 7 seems to be one of the names getting early attention.
