Mercedes-AMG has officially confirmed the development of two extreme performance machines the next generation AMG GT3 race car and the future AMG GT Black Series both derived from the CONCEPT AMG GT TRACK SPORT. The announcement signals AMG’s commitment to pushing the limits of performance both on the racetrack and the road.
The concept serves as a shared technology platform for both models, blending motorsport engineering with road legal innovation. AMG has positioned this project as a bold step toward delivering uncompromising performance for enthusiasts and professional racers alike.
TWO MODELS, ONE PERFORMANCE PHILOSOPHY
Mercedes-AMG has made it clear that both vehicles are built around a single philosophy maximum performance without compromise. While the GT3 will continue AMG’s legacy in customer racing, the Black Series will represent the pinnacle of road legal performance.

According to AMG leadership, the TRACK SPORT concept is more than a showpiece it is a working technology demonstrator that directly influences both models. The GT3 and Black Series are expected to set new benchmarks in their respective segments.
NEXT-GENERATION GT3 FOR CUSTOMER RACING
The upcoming Mercedes-AMG GT3 will mark the evolution of the brand’s highly successful customer racing program. AMG has been active in customer racing since 2010, with iconic models like the SLS AMG GT3 and the current AMG GT3 dominating global circuits.

Development of the new GT3 is being handled by Affalterbach Racing GmbH in collaboration with Mercedes AMG Motorsport. The goal is to deliver improved performance, enhanced safety, and greater competitiveness.
The prototype has already undergone extensive testing at renowned circuits including Immendingen, Bilster Berg, Portimão, Monteblanco, and now the Nürburgring Nordschleife, marking a critical phase in its development.
AMG BLACK SERIES RETURNS WITH EXTREME DNA
The future AMG GT Black Series is being developed as the most radical version in the brand’s history. Known for bringing racing DNA to the road, Black Series models have been the pinnacle of AMG performance since 2006.

This new model will continue that legacy, offering extreme power, advanced aerodynamics, and track focused engineering in a road-legal package. The project draws inspiration from AMG’s motorsport roots, dating back to 1967, and continues the tradition of translating racing technology into high performance road cars.
TESTING, DESIGN AND MOTORSPORT INFLUENCE
Both vehicles are currently undergoing rigorous testing across multiple race tracks. AMG has also defined distinct visual identities, with red representing the GT3 race car and yellow symbolising the Black Series.
The TRACK SPORT concept bridges the gap between racing and road performance, reinforcing AMG’s ambition to dominate both arenas. Further details, including technical specifications and launch timelines, are expected to be revealed in the coming months.
