Hyundai Motor India Limited has officially launched the updated IONIQ 5 in India, bringing significant upgrades in range, technology, design and safety. The premium electric SUV, already known for its futuristic styling and global accolades, now becomes even more compelling with a larger battery pack and enhanced features aimed at improving everyday usability and long distance capability.
PERFORMANCE AND RANGE UPGRADE
The biggest highlight of the new IONIQ 5 is its upgraded 84.0 kWh battery pack, which now delivers an impressive range of up to 690 km (ARAI certified). This improvement directly addresses range anxiety and makes the EV more practical for long distance travel.

Built on Hyundai’s dedicated Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the SUV continues to offer a balanced mix of performance, efficiency and refinement.
DESIGN EVOLUTION WITH FUTURISTIC TOUCH
While retaining its iconic Parametric Pixel design language, the new IONIQ 5 receives subtle yet impactful exterior updates. These include redesigned front and rear bumpers, new alloy wheels, a revised rear spoiler and updated lighting elements.

The overall stance remains bold and futuristic, ensuring strong road presence while enhancing aerodynamic efficiency.
REFINED AND TECH-FOCUSED INTERIOR
Inside, Hyundai has focused on improving both comfort and usability. The cabin now features a new 3-spoke leather steering wheel with illuminated pixel design, along with a redesigned centre console for better accessibility.

Dual 12.3-inch screens for infotainment and instrument cluster continue to dominate the dashboard, offering a seamless digital experience. The updated layout also includes improved wireless charging and more intuitive controls for everyday convenience.
NEXT-GEN CONNECTIVITY AND FEATURES
The IONIQ 5 now comes equipped with Hyundai’s Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) and Controller Over the Air (C-OTA) updates, enabling continuous software improvements.

Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay have also been introduced, along with new features like Active Sound Design and in car payment integration for EV charging. A new remote immobilization function via Bluelink adds an extra layer of security.
ENHANCED SAFETY AND DRIVER ASSISTANCE

Safety has also been upgraded with features like Parking Collision Avoidance Assist (Rear) and Side Parking Distance Warning. These additions enhance maneuverability in tight spaces and improve overall driving confidence, especially in urban conditions.
PRICING AND MARKET POSITIONING
The new Hyundai IONIQ 5 is priced at ₹55.70 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it as a premium electric SUV in India. With its extended range, advanced tech suite and refined design, Hyundai aims to strengthen its foothold in the growing EV segment and appeal to buyers looking for a future ready mobility solution.
