When we promised we’d return with another epic story featuring the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, we meant it. After all, a vehicle like this rarely settles for a single adventure.

This time, however, the story unfolded from a slightly different perspective. I’m new to this space. My world usually revolves around the corporate and fashion industries, not off-road trails or automotive jargon. But when the DAG India crew planned their journey to Koynanagar for what was shaping up to be another epic feature, I happened to be around for the ride.

Our Ed Harshit was deep into his role, managing the shoot and driving the support car while ensuring everything stayed on schedule. Somewhere in the middle of all that organised chaos, the keys to the Rubicon were tossed my way.

And just like that, I found myself behind the wheel.

Now, we’ve all seen stories of women drivers confidently tackling off-road trails with serious 4×4 machines. But what made this moment feel different wasn’t just the Rubicon; it was the setting. The drive to Koynanagar has a personality of its own. The roads begin with familiar highways, then slowly dissolve into quieter stretches where forests begin to dominate the view, and civilisation fades into the background.

Harshit had already described the serenity of the place in detail. But what struck me most wasn’t just the Rubicon’s off-road reputation. It was how comfortable and convenient it made the entire journey feel.

COMFORT FIRST

Let me begin with a confession: I’m not an automotive enthusiast. I don’t speak the language of torque figures or axle articulation. My days are usually spent juggling meetings, deadlines and calls that stretch across time zones.

Which is exactly why the Rubicon surprised me.

For most of the trip, the rear of the vehicle quietly became my travelling workspace. The tailgate swung open, the integrated picnic table folded down, and suddenly I had a surprisingly practical desk setup in the middle of nature. Laptop open, calls in progress, emails flying out, it felt like I had carried my office along for the ride.

Except this office came with birdsong instead of traffic noise.

The serenity around Koynanagar made work feel lighter somehow. The Rubicon’s tall stance and large windows let the outside world pour in, while the sturdy tailgate setup provided a stable, comfortable place to work. It was a reminder that sometimes productivity doesn’t need fluorescent lighting and glass towers, it just needs the right setting.

CONVENIENCE ON WHEELS

Inside the cabin, the Rubicon offers a blend of rugged practicality and thoughtful convenience. The large touchscreen made navigation and connectivity effortless, while the seating position felt commanding without being intimidating. For someone unfamiliar with big off-road vehicles, that confidence matters.

The drive itself was surprisingly relaxed. Despite its imposing presence, the Rubicon never felt overwhelming. On highways, it cruised comfortably, and even when the roads narrowed or turned rough, there was a reassuring sense that the vehicle could handle far more than what we were asking of it.

That’s when it struck me, the Rubicon’s true charm isn’t just its ability to conquer wild trails. It’s the balance it brings between adventure and everyday usability.

A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE

By the time we wrapped up the trip and the crew began packing up cameras and equipment, I realised that my takeaway from the Rubicon was very different from theirs.

They saw a legendary off-roader conquering trails and landscapes.

I saw something else.

A vehicle that turned a remote village into a peaceful workspace.

A machine that made long journeys feel easy.

And a companion that quietly blended adventure with comfort.

Sometimes, the wildest vehicles surprise you not with how far they can go, but with how effortlessly they fit into your day.
