Kawasaki India has officially launched the 2026 Ninja 500 in the Indian market at an ex-showroom price of Rs 5.76 lakh. The latest iteration of the middleweight sportbike receives a subtle update for the new model year, including a fresh Lime Green paint scheme and compliance with E20 fuel norms. The revised model commands a premium of Rs 10,000 over its predecessor.

While the changes may appear minimal, the update ensures that the motorcycle remains aligned with evolving emission and fuel regulations in India while retaining its proven mechanical package.

NEW LIME GREEN COLOUR ADDS FRESH APPEAL

One of the most noticeable changes on the 2026 Kawasaki Ninja 500 is the introduction of a new Lime Green colour option, a shade that has long been associated with Kawasaki’s racing heritage.

The new paint scheme enhances the motorcycle’s sporty character and gives buyers an additional styling choice. Apart from the cosmetic update, the overall design remains unchanged, featuring sharp bodywork, aerodynamic fairings, twin LED headlamps, and a sporty riding stance.

E20-COMPLIANT ENGINE MEETS LATEST REGULATIONS

For 2026, Kawasaki has made the Ninja 500 compliant with E20 fuel standards, allowing the motorcycle to run on fuel containing up to 20 percent ethanol.

Powering the motorcycle is the same 451cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine, paired with a six-speed gearbox. The motor is known for delivering smooth power delivery, strong mid-range performance, and refined highway cruising capabilities.

The primary rival to the Kawasaki Ninja 500 in the Indian market is the Aprilia RS 457.

Both motorcycles offer twin-cylinder performance, sporty styling, and strong road presence. However, the RS 457 offers a more comprehensive electronics package, including modern rider aids and advanced technology features, making it an attractive alternative for buyers seeking greater value.

Alongside the launch of the 2026 Ninja 500, Kawasaki is reportedly preparing to phase out the Eliminator cruiser from the Indian market once existing inventory is exhausted.

The Eliminator shares its engine platform with the Ninja 500, making the sportbike one of the key models in Kawasaki’s mid-capacity lineup moving forward.
