Citroën India has introduced the updated ë-C3X, strengthening its electric vehicle portfolio with a fresh design, improved features, and a new Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) ownership model. The launch aims to make electric mobility more accessible by significantly reducing the initial purchase cost for customers.

Under the new BaaS program, buyers can purchase the ë-C3X at an introductory price of ₹6.89 lakh, while the battery cost is covered separately through a usage-based EMI structure starting at ₹2.26 per kilometre. The standard ex-showroom price of the vehicle starts at ₹10.25 lakh.

Citroën says the new ownership model addresses one of the biggest barriers to EV adoption in India—the high upfront cost of batteries. By separating the battery from the vehicle purchase, customers can enter the EV ecosystem with lower initial investment and more predictable ownership costs.

DESIGNED FOR EVERYDAY INDIAN DRIVING

Built on Citroën’s Smart Car Platform, the ë-C3X combines SUV-inspired styling with urban practicality. The electric hatchback features LED headlamps, signature LED daytime running lights, front fog lamps, 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, front and rear skid plates, and distinctive X-badging that gives it a more premium appearance.

The vehicle offers 170mm ground clearance and a compact turning radius, making it suitable for both city commutes and highway journeys. Citroën has also retained its renowned Advanced Comfort® suspension, delivering the brand’s signature “Flying Carpet Ride” experience while benefiting from the silent and vibration-free nature of electric mobility.

FEATURE-RICH INTERIOR WITH MODERN TECHNOLOGY

Inside, the ë-C3X receives a redesigned cabin featuring an Electric Blu-themed dashboard, premium dual-tone leatherette seats, and improved comfort features. A 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto takes centre stage, while a new 7-inch TFT digital instrument cluster provides key driving information.

Other convenience features include a wireless smartphone charger, electrochromic IRVM, connected car technology with over 40 remote functions, and optional JBL premium audio. Customers can also opt for front and rear dashcams with predictive safety features.

FOCUS ON SAFETY AND LOW RUNNING COSTS

Safety equipment includes six airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child-seat mounts, speed-sensitive door locks, and advanced warning systems. Citroën claims the ë-C3X offers one of the industry’s lowest maintenance costs at just 19 paise per kilometre, further enhancing its affordability.

With bookings now open across Citroën dealerships and online, the new ë-C3X represents the French automaker’s latest effort to bring practical, comfortable, and affordable electric mobility to a broader range of Indian consumers.
