Xiaomi has expanded its automotive ambitions by unveiling the new Sky Nomad N90, a premium extended-range electric SUV designed for families and long-distance travel. Built on the company’s new Kunlun platform, the N90 combines electric mobility with a petrol-powered range extender, allowing it to deliver a claimed combined driving range of more than 1,500 km. The SUV is expected to make its first market debut in China later this month, with an expected starting price below RMB 450,000.
EXTENDED-RANGE ELECTRIC POWERTRAIN

The Sky Nomad N90 features a dual-motor electric drivetrain supported by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that functions solely as a power generator. Energy is stored in a battery pack with a capacity exceeding 70 kWh, supplied by Sunwoda and CALB. Xiaomi claims the SUV can travel between 249 km and 500 km using electric power alone, while the onboard generator extends the total driving range beyond 1,500 km, making it suitable for both daily commuting and long road trips.
SPACIOUS CABIN AND SMART FEATURES
Measuring approximately 5.3 metres in length, the N90 offers buyers a choice of five-seat and seven-seat configurations. Its flat-floor cabin creates a spacious interior, while the front seats can rotate up to 180 degrees to provide greater flexibility during rest stops or outdoor activities. Additional highlights include an adjustable centre console, built-in AC power outlets and the option to equip the SUV with a roof-mounted camping tent for adventure-focused buyers.
ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY AND MARKET POSITION

The Sky Nomad N90 is equipped with a LiDAR-based autonomous driving system designed to improve driver assistance and safety. By combining modern connectivity features with extended-range technology and a highly practical interior, Xiaomi is positioning the SUV as a premium family vehicle rather than a conventional electric crossover. While the initial launch is expected to take place in China, the N90 highlights Xiaomi’s growing ambitions in the global electric vehicle market and showcases the brand’s continued investment in intelligent mobility solutions.
