Kia India has officially started accepting bookings for the upcoming Sorento SUV, giving customers the opportunity to reserve the premium hybrid model before its launch. Interested buyers can book the SUV through authorised Kia dealerships or the company’s official website. While Kia has not announced the launch date yet, the opening of bookings indicates that the launch is expected soon.

The Sorento will strengthen Kia’s premium SUV portfolio in India and is expected to attract buyers looking for a spacious, feature-rich three-row SUV with hybrid technology.

Teaser Reveals Exterior Highlights

Kia has also released a teaser of the Sorento, revealing several design highlights. The SUV features signature T-shaped LED daytime running lights, vertically stacked LED headlamps and a bold front fascia. Prominent roof rails and an elongated body profile further underline its premium SUV character. Internationally, the Sorento measures 4,815mm in length, 1,900mm in width and 1,700mm in height, making it one of the larger offerings in its segment.

Feature-Rich Cabin Expected

Although Kia has not revealed the interior of the India-spec model, it is expected to closely follow the global version. The SUV is likely to offer dual 12.3-inch displays for the infotainment system and digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a powered driver’s seat, a head-up display, a 360-degree camera and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). It is also expected to feature a rotary gear selector and an electronic parking brake.

The Sorento is expected to be available in both six-seat and seven-seat configurations for the Indian market.

Strong Hybrid Powertrain

Kia has confirmed that the Sorento will be powered by a strong-hybrid powertrain. The India-spec model is expected to use a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol hybrid engine paired with a 1.49kWh lithium-ion polymer battery pack, producing around 238hp and 380Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted through a six-speed automatic gearbox.

Expected Price and Rivals

The upcoming Kia Sorento is expected to be priced at around Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will compete with premium SUVs such as the Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tayron, offering buyers a strong-hybrid alternative with three-row practicality, modern technology and premium features.
