Mercedes-AMG has expanded its latest GT lineup with the introduction of the new GT 53 4-Door Coupe, bringing an all-electric performance model that combines everyday practicality with sports car performance. Positioned as the entry point to the new GT family, the luxury four-door coupe delivers 536 hp, dual-motor all-wheel drive and advanced battery technology inspired by Formula 1. The model is scheduled to reach U.S. dealerships in early 2027.

PERFORMANCE AND ELECTRIC POWERTRAIN

The GT 53 uses two permanently excited synchronous electric motors that produce a combined 536 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. Mercedes-AMG claims a 0-60 mph sprint in just 3.4 seconds, while power is distributed through the AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system. A two-speed transmission further improves acceleration at low speeds while maintaining efficiency during highway driving.

800-VOLT BATTERY TECHNOLOGY

Power comes from a 106 kWh usable battery featuring 800-volt architecture and direct cell cooling technology. Mercedes-AMG says the battery delivers more than 800 km of WLTP driving range and supports ultra-fast DC charging at up to 600 kW. Under suitable conditions, the system can recover over 500 km of range in as little as ten minutes, making it one of the fastest-charging production EVs announced so far.

SPORTY DESIGN AND PREMIUM CABIN

The new GT 53 features active aerodynamics with an adaptive rear spoiler and optional rear diffuser to improve efficiency and stability at speed. Inside, the cabin offers a driver-focused layout with a 14-inch central touchscreen, optional front passenger display, AMG sports seats, wireless charging and multiple drive customisation options through AMG Dynamic Select and Response Control systems.

ARRIVING IN 2027

With a blend of high-performance electric technology, long-distance capability and everyday usability, the Mercedes-AMG GT 53 4-Door Coupe marks a significant expansion of AMG’s electric portfolio. The model is expected to arrive at dealerships in early 2027, offering buyers a luxury performance EV that combines traditional AMG driving character with next-generation electric mobility.
