Ducati has launched the new Monster V2 and Monster+ V2 in India, with prices starting at ₹13.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated naked motorcycle brings a new 890cc V-twin engine, a revised chassis and a lower kerb weight while retaining the performance-focused character of the Monster range. The new model costs ₹15,000 more than its predecessor and is now available for booking through Ducati India.

MONSTER AND MONSTER+ VARIANTS

The standard Monster starts at ₹13.99 lakh in Ducati Red, while Iceberg White and Sport Livery versions cost ₹14.23 lakh. The Monster+ is mechanically identical but adds a headlight cowl and passenger seat cover.

It is priced from ₹14.34 lakh in Ducati Red, while the other colour options cost ₹14.45 lakh. Both versions are available in three colour choices.

NEW 890CC V-TWIN ENGINE

The biggest mechanical change is the new 890cc V-twin engine, which replaces the previous 937cc unit. Despite its smaller capacity, the new motor produces the same 112.54 BHP, with peak power arriving at 9,000rpm.

Maximum torque stands at 91.1Nm, while Ducati says 80 percent of the available torque is accessible between 4,000rpm and 9,000rpm. Intake Variable Timing also helps extend valve-check intervals to 45,000km.

UPDATED CHASSIS AND HARDWARE

The Monster V2 uses a new monocoque chassis and is around 5kg lighter than the outgoing motorcycle. Its seat height has also been reduced to 815mm, with optional lower-seat configurations available for shorter riders. Suspension duties are handled by a 43mm Showa USD fork and rear monoshock, while Brembo brakes and Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres complete the hardware package.

ELECTRONICS AND FEATURES

Rider assistance features include multiple ride and power modes, traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control and cornering ABS. A 5-inch TFT display, full-LED lighting, bi-directional quickshifter and self-cancelling indicators are standard. Ducati also offers accessories such as cruise control, tyre-pressure monitoring, navigation and heated grips. The Monster V2 is now open for bookings in India.
