Yokohama India has introduced the GEOLANDAR X-CV tyre range for crossover and premium SUVs, extending its flagship SUV tyre technology to smaller wheel sizes for the Indian market. Originally developed for luxury SUVs with wheel sizes above 18 inches, the range will now be offered from 16 inches onwards. With 32 planned sizes covering 16 to 20-inch wheels, the GEOLANDAR X-CV is positioned as Yokohama India’s most extensive dedicated tyre range for crossover and premium SUVs.

WIDER RANGE FOR CROSSOVER SUVS

The GEOLANDAR X-CV has been developed to meet the changing requirements of SUV owners, with an emphasis on grip, comfort, durability and efficiency. Yokohama says the range is designed to provide confident performance across different weather and road conditions while offering long-lasting performance. The tyres will cater to premium, mid-size and compact crossover SUVs in India.

FOCUS ON WET GRIP AND REFINED PERFORMANCE

The new tyre incorporates several technologies aimed at improving road performance. Micro Silica technology is designed to increase wet-road grip while reducing rolling resistance. Its asymmetric tread pattern uses specially developed inner and outer shoulder blocks to improve wet traction, steering response and stability during high-speed cornering. Four wide circumferential grooves help channel water away from the contact patch, improving wet braking and resistance to hydroplaning.

DESIGNED FOR DURABILITY AND LOWER NOISE

Yokohama has also incorporated 2D–3D Combination Sipes to enhance wet traction and encourage more even tread wear. Its 5-Pitch Variation Technology is intended to reduce pattern noise, contributing to a quieter cabin. The tyre uses reinforced two-ply sidewall construction along with a Full Nylon Cover to improve durability and high-speed stability, which are particularly relevant for larger and heavier SUVs.

READY FOR ELECTRIC SUVS

The GEOLANDAR X-CV is also compatible with electric vehicles. Yokohama says its construction has been developed to accommodate the higher weight and instant torque characteristics associated with EVs, while maintaining durability, tyre life and driving refinement. This makes the range suitable for the growing number of electric crossovers and premium SUVs entering the Indian market.

AVAILABLE FROM AUGUST 2026

The GEOLANDAR X-CV will be available across Yokohama Club Network outlets and select authorised dealers from August 2026. Customers will be able to choose from a broad range of specifications covering different crossover and premium SUV applications. As part of the launch offer, Yokohama India is also providing a no-cost EMI option on the new tyre range.
