Google is adding a range of new features to its Pixel Buds lineup, with the Pixel Buds Pro 2 receiving Dynamic ANC, Gemini-powered audio controls, Pixel Watch sleep integration and an upgraded Live Translate experience. Google has also introduced a new Olive finish for the Pixel Buds Pro 2. The new features are aimed at making the earbuds more adaptive, intelligent and useful across the wider Pixel ecosystem.

PIXEL BUDS PRO 2 GET DYNAMIC ANC

One of the key updates coming to the Pixel Buds Pro 2 is Dynamic ANC. Google says the feature can adjust noise cancellation when subtle changes occur in the seal between the earbuds and the user’s ears. This is designed to help maintain consistent and powerful active noise cancellation even when the fit changes slightly during use.

GEMINI CAN CONTROL PIXEL BUDS SETTINGS

The Pixel Buds Pro 2 are also gaining Gemini audio controls. Users will be able to adjust supported Buds settings using voice commands through Gemini. For example, users can simply say “Hey Google, turn up the bass” to change the audio experience without manually opening settings on their phone.

PIXEL WATCH CAN NOW SYNC WITH PIXEL BUDS

Google is also connecting the Pixel Buds Pro 2 more closely with the Pixel Watch. When the watch detects that the user has fallen asleep, it can automatically pause music, disable touch controls and silence notifications. This integration is designed to prevent accidental interactions and interruptions while the user is sleeping.

LIVE TRANSLATE NOW SUPPORTS OVER 70 LANGUAGES

Google is upgrading Live Translate on Pixel Buds, allowing users to tap their earbuds to activate listening mode and understand conversations in more than 70 languages in near real time. The feature also supports two-way communication, with spoken words translated through the Pixel phone for the other person in their language.

PIXEL BUDS PRO 2 GET A NEW OLIVE FINISH

Alongside the software features, Google has introduced an Olive colour option for the Pixel Buds Pro 2. The new finish is available to order from August 12, while the announced software updates are scheduled to begin rolling out in September.
