Mahindra has introduced the BE 6 SPORTEQ, a new series of its electric origin SUV that combines sporty design, artificial intelligence, performance-focused technology and an evolving software-defined vehicle experience. Prices start at ₹11.45 lakh with Battery as a Service (BaaS), while deliveries are scheduled to begin on 26 August 2026, the occasion of Onam.

BE 6 SPORTEQ: DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY

The BE 6 SPORTEQ is available in 12 colour options and eight variants, including ONE, TWO, THREE, THREE+, FOUR, FE, FE FOUR and Launch Edition. From the TWO variant onwards, the SUV gets a three-screen coast-to-coast display, while the Freedom Edition retains the original two-screen cockpit and signature halo design.

Mahindra has also introduced six TEQ Suites powered by its MAIA artificial intelligence architecture. TEQ_Talk, developed with Google Gemini, supports natural interactions through 17 specialised AI agents, while other suites add features for entertainment, driving, personalisation and security.

FORMULA E FREEDOM EDITION AND LAUNCH EDITION

The BE 6 SPORTEQ Launch Edition sits at the top of the range and features a Graphite Storm exterior with a Racing Tan leatherette interior. Meanwhile, the Formula E Freedom Edition draws inspiration from Mahindra Racing’s Formula E programme and gets a sportier exterior, two-screen cockpit and Black & Firestorm orange interior theme.

The Freedom Edition also gets an Acceleration Boost function, enabling a claimed 0-100 km/h time of 6.44 seconds.

BE 6 SPORTEQ PRICE AND AVAILABILITY

The BE 6 SPORTEQ starts at ₹11.45 lakh with BaaS for the 59kWh battery, while the corresponding battery-inclusive price starts at ₹19.45 lakh. The range extends up to the 79kWh variants, with the FOUR, Launch Edition and FE FOUR priced at ₹26.95 lakh ex-showroom. BaaS battery usage is listed at ₹3.75 per km based on 60 km of daily usage.

Note: Prices exclude wall charger and installation costs. Existing BE 6, XEV 9e and XEV 9S owners are also set to receive the new software features through phased OTA updates starting January 2027.
