Mercedes-Benz has introduced a major facelift for the C-Class sedan and estate for 2026 and beyond. The updated model gets revised styling inspired by the larger S-Class, additional features and an upgraded range of petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid powertrains. Prices for the updated C-Class start at 41,045 euros, equivalent to around Rs 45.43 lakh, in Germany.

2026 MERCEDES C-CLASS FACELIFT POWERTRAIN UPDATES
Every engine option for the updated C-Class is compliant with Euro 7 emission norms. A 9-speed automatic gearbox and 48V mild-hybrid system continue as standard, with the new integrated starter generator providing a boost of up to 23.32bhp and 205Nm.

The petrol range includes the C 200, C 250 and C 300, all powered by the M 254 EVO 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. The C 200 produces 179.45bhp and 270Nm, while the C 250 develops 221.02bhp and 320Nm. The C 300 produces 261.58bhp and 400Nm. The C 250 can also be specified with Mercedes-Benz’s 4Matic all-wheel-drive system.
The current India-spec C-Class C 200 uses a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 206.83bhp, although Mercedes-Benz has not mentioned this engine for the 2026 facelift.
2026 MERCEDES C-CLASS DIESEL ENGINE DETAILS
The diesel-powered C-Class uses the OM 654 EVO 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine in two states of tune. The C 200d produces 165.26bhp and 380Nm, while the C 250d develops 202.77bhp and 440Nm. The C 250d is also available with all-wheel drive.

The turbocharger and common-rail direct-injection system have been optimised, while the engine is compatible with HVO100, B10 and B20 biofuels.
2026 MERCEDES C-CLASS PLUG-IN HYBRID POWERTRAINS
Selected global markets will also receive C 300e and C 400e plug-in hybrid versions. They combine the updated M 254 EVO engine with a 19.53kWh battery pack and an electric motor to produce a net output of up to 400.48bhp and 650Nm.

The C-Class plug-in hybrid offers a WLTP-rated electric range of 100km and supports charging at up to 11kW AC and 55kW DC. The C 300e is available with rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, while the C 400e gets all-wheel drive as standard.
2026 MERCEDES C-CLASS FACELIFT EXTERIOR DESIGN
The biggest styling changes are concentrated at the front. The updated C-Class gets reshaped LED headlamps with three-pointed-star daytime running lights, a larger grille with a prominent Mercedes-Benz emblem and revised bumper detailing.

The headlamps and grille are connected by gloss-black trim, while new alloy wheel designs are available. The 2026 C-Class gets 17-inch alloy wheels as standard, with 19-inch wheels available as an option.

The rear remains largely unchanged apart from the three-pointed-star lighting signatures in the sedan’s tail-lamps. The facelift also gets projectors in the side sills and exterior mirrors that display the Mercedes-Benz logo. Two new exterior colours are available: Lavender Silver Metallic and Sky Grey Metallic.

2026 MERCEDES C-CLASS FACELIFT INTERIOR UPDATES
The interior layout remains largely unchanged, with the C-Class continuing with a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display and an 11.9-inch portrait-oriented infotainment touchscreen. Both displays run the latest MB.OS software, which brings over-the-air updates and a new virtual assistant using ChatGPT, Google Gemini and Microsoft Bing AI.

The facelift also gets a new three-spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel, along with two new interior upholstery colours: warm beech brown and cherry red. Fresh trim options include light open-pore birch wood, anthracite birch wood and high-gloss silver metal mixed fabric.

Mercedes-Benz has improved cabin refinement through aerodynamic changes, redesigned exterior mirrors, an additional windscreen seal and extra insulation.
2026 MERCEDES C-CLASS FEATURES
The updated C-Class includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 64-colour ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control, Level 2 ADAS, a head-up display with augmented-reality navigation and connected-car technology.
Boot space is rated at 455 litres for the C-Class sedan and 490 litres for the estate. In the plug-in hybrid versions, capacity drops to 315 litres and 360 litres respectively due to the placement of the battery pack.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE UPDATED C-CLASS
The facelift brings substantial upgrades to the C-Class without changing its basic interior layout. The revised powertrains, updated mild-hybrid system, improved suspension, fresh exterior design and latest MB.OS technology give the luxury sedan and estate a more modern proposition.
FINAL THOUGHTS
The 2026 Mercedes C-Class facelift combines refreshed styling with upgraded petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid powertrains and a stronger technology package. With improved cabin refinement, updated safety features and the latest MB.OS software, the facelift gives the fifth-generation C-Class a comprehensive update while retaining its familiar luxury-sedan character.
