Genesis has revealed the GV90 as its new flagship electric SUV and the largest, most luxurious model in its lineup. Based on the 2024 Neolun Concept, the production-ready GV90 combines a 123.5kWh battery, dual-motor all-wheel drive and a range of high-end technology and comfort features.

GENESIS GV90 POWERTRAIN AND RANGE

The Genesis GV90 is equipped with a 123.5kWh battery, the largest battery offered by the wider Hyundai group. The battery provides around 500km of range according to the manufacturer’s internal testing. Its dual electric motors produce a combined 544bhp and 800Nm, making it the most powerful EV in the wider Hyundai group.

The battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 22 minutes using a 350kW DC fast charger. The GV90 also gets an e-LSD for each motor, multi-chamber air suspension, adaptive dampers and rear-axle steering with up to five degrees of steering angle.

FLAGSHIP SUV WITH DISTINCTIVE DESIGN

At 5,285mm long, the GV90 is comparable in size to the Rolls-Royce Cullinan and Bentley Bentayga EWB. Its exterior closely follows the Neolun Concept, featuring Genesis’ signature two-line LED lighting, a clamshell bonnet and 24-inch Maybach-inspired wheels.

The standard GV90 is offered with seven seats, while the GV90 Neolun gets a four-seat layout. The latter features powered coach doors and a hidden B-pillar for a more distinctive luxury experience.

LUXURIOUS CABIN AND ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY

The cabin features a 23.6-inch OLED infotainment display powered by Pleos Connect, which can extend to 24.6 inches when parked. A 25-inch head-up display replaces the conventional driver’s display, while motorised air vents and real glass dashboard controls add to the premium ambience.

The GV90 Neolun also gets 180-degree swivelling front seats, massage functions, a 25-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, a panoramic glass roof and a heated windscreen. Genesis has equipped the SUV with 12 airbags, including a roof-mounted airbag.

GENESIS GV90 INDIA PLANS

The Genesis GV90 will launch in Korea in September, followed by a European debut in the first half of 2027. Genesis is also scheduled to enter India in 2027 with locally assembled models, although the company has not confirmed the GV90 for the Indian market.

CONCLUSION

The Genesis GV90 pushes the brand further into the ultra-luxury electric SUV space with its 544bhp dual-motor setup, 123.5kWh battery and highly equipped cabin. Its potential India introduction could give the luxury EV segment another high-end contender.
