JSW MG Motor India has expanded its electric SUV portfolio with the launch of the new Hector Tomahawk EV. Priced from ₹19.49 lakh (ex-showroom), the three-row electric SUV combines a claimed 517km range with flexible seating, premium features and a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) ownership option.

The Hector Tomahawk EV becomes the first MG model in India to use the company’s ADAPT architecture, an architecture developed to accommodate multiple electrified powertrains. The SUV is offered in both five-seat and seven-seat configurations, giving buyers the choice between passenger capacity and additional luggage space.

MG Hector Tomahawk EV: Price and Variants

The seven-seat range starts with the Excite at ₹19.49 lakh, followed by the Exclusive at ₹21.99 lakh and Essence at ₹23.49 lakh. The five-seat version is available in the Essence trim at ₹22.99 lakh. These are introductory prices applicable to a limited number of units.

MG is also offering a BaaS ownership model, bringing the initial price down to ₹13.99 lakh, with a separate battery rental charge of ₹4.90 per km. This approach could make the electric SUV more accessible to buyers who prefer a lower upfront purchase cost.

517km Range and 201bhp Electric Powertrain

Power comes from a 69.2kWh battery pack paired with a single electric motor producing 201bhp and 310Nm. MG claims a 517km MIDC range, while 0-100kmph acceleration takes 8.2 seconds. Fast charging is supported at up to 90kW, with a 30-80 percent charge taking around 35 minutes.

Feature-Packed Cabin and Practicality

Inside, the Tomahawk EV gets a 15.6-inch touchscreen, an 8.8-inch digital instrument display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate and connected-car technology. It also offers V2L functionality and other vehicle-to-energy capabilities.

The SUV measures 4,745mm long, 1,850mm wide and 1,770mm tall, with a 2,810mm wheelbase and 230mm ground clearance. In five-seat configuration, boot capacity stands at 610 litres, while the seven-seat version offers 192 litres with all rows in use and 528 litres with the third row folded.

Bookings are now open, with deliveries scheduled to begin from September 2026. MG has also revealed a plug-in hybrid version of the Tomahawk, expanding the model’s powertrain portfolio beyond pure electric mobility.
