Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has unveiled the first official design sketches of the upcoming Hyundai BAYON, previewing a bold new Intelligent Utility Vehicle designed for modern urban lifestyles. The reveal follows Hyundai’s recent announcement confirming the BAYON name for its upcoming Intelligent SUV.

Unveiled on September 16, 2026, in Gurugram, the Hyundai BAYON has been developed as a global product and is positioned around a stronger SUV identity, distinctive design character and everyday urban versatility. The sketches showcase Hyundai’s evolving Art of Steel design language, combining architectural forms, sharp character lines and confident proportions.

Hyundai BAYON Design: Bold and Muscular SUV Character

The design sketches highlight a strong SUV stance with a sculpted hood, pronounced fenders and muscular proportions. At the front, the BAYON features a distinctive H-Edge lighting signature, which gives the SUV a futuristic and modern visual identity. Robust lower-body elements further reinforce its confident SUV appearance.

According to Simon Loasby, Senior Vice President and Head of Hyundai Design Center, the BAYON was designed to make a confident first impression in India. Hyundai’s design approach combines a high-tech interior with a tough exterior, with elements such as the sculpted hood, bold fender volumes and H-Edge lighting intended to create a distinctive presence.
