Mercedes-Benz has expanded its ultra-luxury portfolio in India with the launch of the Mercedes-Maybach S 580e 4MATIC, priced at ₹3.35 crore (ex-showroom). The new limousine combines the traditional luxury and craftsmanship of the Maybach S-Class with a plug-in hybrid powertrain capable of delivering up to 98km of electric-only range under the WLTP cycle.

Limited to just 30 units for the Indian market, the S 580e becomes the first plug-in hybrid model to carry the Mercedes-Maybach badge in India. The four-seat limousine focuses heavily on rear-seat comfort, with two individual Executive seats separated by a full-length Business Centre Console featuring wireless charging and temperature-controlled cup holders.

Under the bonnet, the Maybach S 580e uses a 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine paired with a plug-in hybrid system. The combined system output is rated at 585hp and 750Nm, with power sent to all four wheels through a 9-speed 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission. The car can also travel at speeds of up to 140kmph in electric mode.

Charging options include up to 11kW AC charging and 60kW DC fast charging. Mercedes-Benz is also offering a complimentary home charging solution, while MB.CHARGE provides access to compatible public charging infrastructure.

Visually, the S 580e retains the imposing proportions of the S-Class but receives signature Maybach details, including an illuminated grille, projected Maybach logo, illuminated door sills and MANUFAKTUR Exclusive two-tone exterior finishes.

Inside, the cabin features Nappa leather upholstery, piano lacquer trim, a handcrafted Nappa leather roof liner and bespoke detailing. A 31-speaker Burmester High-End 4D surround sound system, MBUX Superscreen, 3D driver display, augmented-reality navigation and head-up display add to its technology package.

The Mercedes-Maybach S 580e is priced at ₹3.35 crore (ex-showroom), with only 30 units available at launch. It brings electrified driving to Maybach’s flagship limousine formula without moving away from its focus on rear-seat luxury and long-distance comfort.
