Mercedes-Benz has opened bookings for the GLC Electric in India, ahead of its official launch on 4 November 2026. The electric SUV will be sold in the GLC 400 4Matic specification and will be assembled locally at Mercedes-Benz’s Chakan facility in Pune.

The GLC Electric marks Mercedes-Benz’s latest entry into the premium electric SUV space in India. Local assembly is expected to help the model achieve a more competitive price, although the final figure will only be confirmed at launch.

Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric: Powertrain and Range

The India-bound GLC 400 4Matic is powered by a 94kWh battery pack paired with a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive system. International specifications put output at around 490 bhp and 800 Nm, allowing the SUV to accelerate from 0–100 kmph in a claimed 4.3 seconds.

Mercedes-Benz claims a WLTP range of up to 715km on a single charge. The SUV supports DC fast charging at up to 330kW, with Mercedes claiming that up to 300km of range can be added in around 10 minutes under suitable conditions.

Design and Technology

The GLC Electric adopts Mercedes-Benz’s latest EV design language, including distinctive star-pattern lighting elements and an illuminated front grille. The cabin is headlined by a 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen, which combines the driver display, central infotainment screen and passenger display into one continuous panel.

The fourth-generation MBUX system also features an integrated AI assistant, while Mercedes has retained physical controls on the steering wheel and centre console.

Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric India Price and Rivals

Mercedes-Benz is expected to price the GLC Electric between ₹80 lakh and ₹90 lakh (ex-showroom). It will eventually face competition from the BMW iX3 Long Wheelbase, which is expected to arrive in India in 2027.

With bookings now open and the launch confirmed for 4 November, the GLC Electric is set to become an important addition to Mercedes-Benz India’s growing EV portfolio.
