Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has unveiled the India-spec Hyundai BAYON, an Intelligent Utility Vehicle that places artificial intelligence, connected technology and digital convenience at the centre of the driving experience. Scheduled to launch in India on 26 October 2026, the new Hyundai BAYON is now available for booking through authorised Hyundai dealerships and the company’s official website, with a booking amount of ₹11,000.

The upcoming SUV introduces several technology-focused features, including Hyundai Motor India’s first-ever Generative AI Voice Assistant, an NVIDIA-accelerated Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) and over-the-air software updates.

Hyundai BAYON Introduces Generative AI Voice Assistant

One of the key highlights of the Hyundai BAYON is its Generative AI Voice Assistant, featuring intelligence by Perplexity and voice AI powered by SoundHound AI. The system is designed to support natural conversational interactions, allowing drivers to request travel itineraries, weather information, hotel suggestions, restaurant recommendations and nearby shopping destinations.

The assistant aims to make accessing information more intuitive while on the move. According to Hyundai, the Generative AI Voice Assistant can be interacted with in English.

Dual 12.3-inch Displays and Connected Technology

The Hyundai BAYON features dual 12.3-inch curved panoramic displays, creating an integrated digital cockpit for driving information, navigation, entertainment and connected functions.

Its NVIDIA-accelerated ccNC system brings together online navigation, split-screen functionality, personalised controls and a smartphone-inspired interface. The SUV also features Hyundai Bluelink, offering more than 70 connected features, including remote vehicle controls, vehicle information, smartphone and smartwatch connectivity, location services, and safety and security functions.

Hyundai has also equipped the BAYON with support for over-the-air updates across up to 19 vehicle controllers, allowing eligible software enhancements to be delivered remotely, subject to network availability and other factors.

Hyundai BAYON Engine and Transmission Options

Powering the India-spec Hyundai BAYON is a four-cylinder, 1.5-litre MPi petrol engine producing 115 PS and 144 Nm of torque. Buyers will be able to choose between a six-speed manual transmission and an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT).

For Indian customers, the SUV offers a multilingual interface supporting 10 regional and two international languages. More than 500 embedded voice commands in English, Hindi, Hinglish, Tamil, Bengali and Telugu enable access to selected in-car functions without an internet connection.

Hyundai BAYON India Launch and Bookings

The Hyundai BAYON will officially launch in India on 26 October 2026, with deliveries scheduled to begin during the festive season. Customers can book the SUV for ₹11,000 through Hyundai dealerships or online at hyundai.co.in.

With AI-assisted interactions, connected-car technology and a petrol powertrain, the BAYON represents Hyundai’s latest effort to bring a more digitally integrated driving experience to Indian customers. Pricing and further launch details are expected to be announced at the official launch.
