India Kawasaki Motors has launched the MY2027 Kawasaki Z900 in India, with prices starting at ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The latest version of Kawasaki’s popular supernaked motorcycle features refined Sugomi styling, a 948cc inline-four engine, updated chassis components and an expanded suite of electronic rider aids. Deliveries of the new Z900 will commence from 28 October 2026.

The MY2027 Kawasaki Z900 continues the legacy of the Japanese manufacturer’s Z-Series, which began in 1972 with the iconic Kawasaki Z1. The latest model retains the aggressive streetfighter character associated with the range while introducing refinements aimed at enhancing handling, rider comfort and overall performance.

Kawasaki Z900 MY2027: Engine and Performance

Powering the new Kawasaki Z900 is a 948cc, liquid-cooled, four-stroke, inline-four-cylinder engine producing 124 PS (approximately 122 bhp) at 9,500 rpm and 98.6 Nm of peak torque at 7,700 rpm.

The engine is paired with a six-speed transmission featuring an assist and slipper clutch. Electronic throttle valves are designed to deliver smooth throttle response, linear acceleration and improved control across different riding conditions.

The motorcycle also features a dual-direction Kawasaki Quick Shifter (KQS), allowing clutchless upshifts and downshifts. According to the manufacturer, the system operates from as low as 1,500 rpm, making gear changes smoother during slower-speed riding as well as more spirited journeys.

Updated Chassis, Suspension and Braking

The MY2027 Z900 uses a high-tensile steel trellis frame with revised geometry intended to improve manoeuvrability. The frame has been updated around the head pipe and swingarm pivot, while changes to the rear frame contribute to a more optimised riding position.

Suspension duties are handled by a 41mm inverted front fork with rebound damping and spring preload adjustability, alongside a horizontal back-link rear suspension with a gas-charged shock absorber. Wheel travel measures 120mm at the front and 140mm at the rear.

Braking hardware includes dual 264mm front discs with radial-mounted, opposed four-piston callipers and a 216mm rear disc. ABS is fitted at both ends, while new Dunlop Sportmax Q5A tyres are intended to improve grip and cornering confidence.

Kawasaki Z900 MY2027: Features and Technology

The updated Z900 receives a comprehensive electronic package supported by an inertial measurement unit (IMU). Key features include:

  • Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC)
  • Kawasaki Cornering Management Function (KCMF)
  • Dual-direction Kawasaki Quick Shifter
  • Electronic cruise control
  • Integrated riding modes
  • Full Power and Low Power settings
  • Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Brake System (KIBS)

Riders can choose between Sport, Road and Rain riding modes, alongside a manually configurable Rider mode.

The motorcycle also features a new five-inch TFT colour instrument display with two display layouts. Smartphone connectivity through Bluetooth enables access to RIDEOLOGY THE APP MOTORCYCLE, which supports turn-by-turn navigation and voice commands.

Design and Colour Options

The MY2027 Kawasaki Z900 retains its signature Sugomi design, characterised by a crouching stance, a low-set front end and an upswept tail section. Updated bodywork, a triple LED headlight arrangement and a distinctive three-dimensional LED taillight reinforce its sharp streetfighter appearance.

In India, the motorcycle will be available in two colour combinations: Ebony/Metallic Carbon Gray and Pearl Blizzard White/Plasma Lime Green.

Kawasaki Z900 MY2027 Price in India

The Kawasaki Z900 MY2027 is priced at ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Deliveries are scheduled to begin on 28 October 2026.
