Aprilia has introduced the SXR 125 as its entry-level offering in the brand’s premium scooter range, combining sporty Italian styling with everyday practicality and modern technology. Designed primarily for urban mobility, the scooter brings several features typically associated with higher-end GT scooters, including LED lighting, a colour TFT instrument console and smartphone connectivity.

The Aprilia SXR 125 builds on the design philosophy of the SXR family, featuring a bold front apron, distinctive dual LED headlamps and integrated daytime running lights. Its styling takes inspiration from Aprilia’s sportbike range, while the raised handlebars and protective windscreen are intended to offer a comfortable, upright riding position.

Engine and Performance

Powering the Aprilia SXR 125 is a 125cc, four-stroke, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 7.8 kW at 7,400 rpm. The engine is designed for everyday city riding, with a focus on manageable performance, fuel efficiency and ease of use in stop-and-go traffic.

The scooter features a steel single-cradle frame, paired with new 14-inch sporty alloy wheels and 120/70 tyres. Braking duties are handled by a 220mm front disc with a dual-piston calliper and a 140mm rear drum brake, supported by a Combined Braking System (CBS).

Technology and Features

One of the biggest highlights is its new 5-inch colour TFT instrument display, which provides a digital interface for vehicle information. Through the optional Aprilia MIA connectivity system, riders can connect their smartphones to manage phone calls, music and pictogram-based navigation.

Additional convenience features include a 20-litre under-seat storage compartment with a courtesy light, a USB charging socket, a rear luggage rack with passenger handholds and an integrated storage compartment.

The scooter also gets an 850mm-long seat, designed to offer comfort for both the rider and pillion, along with a ground clearance of 804mm.

Colours and Accessories

The Aprilia SXR 125 is available in Glossy White, Glossy Silver and Glossy Black. The sportier S version gets a Glossy Red finish with black trims and wheels.

Optional accessories include a 32-litre top box, wider windscreen, side stand, leg cover and waterproof seat cover.

With its combination of Italian styling, technology and everyday usability, the Aprilia SXR 125 aims to strengthen the brand’s presence in the premium 125cc scooter segment.
