BYD has unveiled the ATTO 8, its new flagship seven-seat electric SUV, at the Paris Motor Show 2026, introducing ultra-fast FLASH Charging technology alongside a 115kWh second-generation Blade Battery. The premium electric SUV offers a claimed WLTP range of up to 405 miles (approximately 652 km), spacious seating for seven and a technology-rich cabin. Positioned at the top of BYD’s European SUV line-up, the ATTO 8 will be offered in two all-electric variants: Design RWD and Excellence AWD. Sales across European markets are scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027. BYD ATTO 8: FLASH Charging Technology The biggest highlight of the new BYD ATTO 8 is its FLASH Charging capability, making it the first BYD model in Europe to feature the technology. According to the manufacturer, the system can charge the battery from 10% to 70% in just five minutes and from 10% to 97% in nine minutes. Even in temperatures as low as -30°C, the battery can charge from 20% to 97% in approximately 12 minutes. BYD plans to expand its FLASH Charging network across Europe, targeting 3,000 stations by the end of 2027. Performance and Driving Range The ATTO 8 Design RWD features a single rear-mounted electric motor producing 462PS and 365Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0–62mph in eight seconds and offers a claimed WLTP combined range of 405 miles. The Excellence AWD adds a front motor, delivering a combined output of 775PS and 775Nm. This performance-focused version accelerates from 0–62mph in 4.6 seconds, with a claimed WLTP range of 374 miles. Both variants use the 115kWh battery pack. Premium Seven-Seat Cabin and Features Measuring 5,040mm long, the ATTO 8 offers three rows of seating and a panoramic glass roof. Its cabin features a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 26-inch head-up display and a 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen with Google Built-in. The first-row seats and outer seats in the second row feature heating, ventilation and massage functions. Additional highlights include tri-zone climate control, wireless smartphone charging and a front refrigerator capable of cooling to -6°C or heating to 50°C. Luggage capacity stands at 270 litres with all three rows in use, expanding to 1,960 litres with the second and third rows folded. With its combination of rapid charging, long-distance capability and family-focused practicality, the BYD ATTO 8 represents the brand’s latest push towards premium electric mobility.
